In Cinderia, your progression depends on the shelter and character builds, and after saving Grant (The Blacksmith), you can apply different upgrades to the shelter. Out of these upgrades, there’s a Library for you where you can manage all the effects that apply to the character. Not just that, the library also lists items that are still locked and how you can unlock them.
By the name of it, The Recorder, it seems like an item to pick, but that’s not the case here. The Recorder is a NPC, an old man that you will rescue. Without him, you can’t build the Library and level up your shelter in Cinderia. Here’s what you will do to find The Recoder.
How To Find and Rescue The Recorder
As the Recorder(Old Man) will appear in one of the event rooms, that means his spawn location is random. So, to increase the chance of finding him, don’t miss any event room.
Note: Event rooms are the nodes in Cinderia that appear randomly in any area. On the map, they are visible by a question mark in front of the room. To increase your chance of finding the Recorder, don’t miss any.
Other than that, do the following as Prerequisites for Unlocking the Library:
- Rescue early NPCs like Grant, the Old man who is a blacksmith, and, because of him, you have the character Rivet.
- During the runs, gather Stones from chests and events to upgrade the shelter at the builder.
- Upgrade your shelter to Tier 3 to get access to the basement area where the library is constructed.
Quick Tip: Unlock Fortune Hut and use Seer. This will help spawn extra stones, making it a bit easier for you.
- The Recorder appears in one of the event rooms in the third area of Cinderia, and that is the Caves.
- Once you reach the Caves, clear all the enemies and search every event room, leaving no stone unturned.
- After finding the recorder, interact with him. After a small conversation, he agrees to follow you to your shelter.
After you rescue him, head back to the shelter and talk to the Builder. If you have done everything right, upgraded Shelter to Tier 3, and have enough resources (15 stones + 5 notes), you will be able to construct a library in the basement area.
After the build, the Library menu will display the item compendium.
