There are a bunch of new abilities in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. These abilities play a major role when it comes to exploration. In this guide, we will walk you through everything you need to know about all the new abilities in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Abilities
There are 8 abilities that you can use in The Legend of Zelda: TOTK. These abilities let you combine weapons, create structures, rewind time, and phase through ceilings. Below, you will find a complete rundown of all the new abilities in the game:
Fuse

As the name suggests, Fuse lets you attach a bunch of things to your weapons. But why would you do that? This basically increases durability, enhances stats, provides new effects, etc. There are over a dozen combinations that you can experiment with to get your desired effects. For instance, you can attach a Keese Eyeball to an arrow which will let it auto-target nearby enemies. You will unlock it after completing The Closed Door mission.
Recall

This is a simple one. It lets you rewind time that causes physical objects to retrace their path. For instance, you can cause a falling boulder to rise upward to reach otherwise inaccessible areas. Aside from this, you can also force enemies back into their spawns if you do not wish to engage in combat.
You will need to enter the Temple of Time after completing The Closed Door mission to unlock it.
Ultrahand

This is similar to Fuse but it is not limited to weapons. Ultrahand lets you glue multiple objects together to create an entirely new one. For example, you can create a raft, barricades, etc. To unlock it, you will need to complete The Closed Door mission.
Ascend

This ability basically lets you ascend into the air but there needs to be a ceiling above. Once you phase through the ceiling, you will directly land on the other side. If there is not a solid structure above, you will not be able to ascend. Once again, it is a very useful ability to reach inaccessible areas. This one also requires you to complete The Closed Door mission to unlock it.
As for other abilities, those are pretty simple. To unlock those, you will need to do this:
- Camera: Camera Work in the Depths completed.
- Autobuild: Unlocked during the campaign.
- Amiibo: Find Princess Zelda completed.
- Map: Find Princess Zelda completed.
These are all the new abilities in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. If there is anything else that you would like to know, be sure to let us know!
