Yakuza Like A Dragon PC version is facing errors and issues like the game crashing at launch, in-game crash, Unable To Initialize Steam API, and more. Here I have compiled a list of errors and issues with the game along with their fixes and workarounds.
Yakuza Like a Dragon Crash, Stuttering, And Fixes
Yakuza: Like a Dragon has launched on PC months after it launched on the PlayStation 4. Yakuza 7 changes things for the Yakuza franchise as the game features turn-based combat instead of real-time. However, over time fans have come to accept this new approach.
However, the PC version of Yakuza: Like a Dragon Errors is facing errors and issues like the crash at launch, game crashing randomly, stuttering, and more.
The following are the errors and issues that PC players are experiencing with Yakuza 7 along with their fixes and workarounds.
Crash Fix
Yakuza Like A Dragon PC players are reporting that the game is crashing randomly while playing. Here is how to fix Yakuza Like A Dragon in-game crash issue.
Apparently, for some players, the Pachinko DLC is causing Yakuza Like A Dragon to crash. This can be fixed by deleting the Pachinko DLC. Go to your Steam library and click on Yakuza Like A Dragon. Scroll down under the achievements and Trading cards and you’ll see DLC. Click on “Manage My DLC” and uncheck Pachinko DLC. This will delete the DLC and the Yakuza 7 will stop crashing.
Another reason for the game to crash could be the use of third-party tools and software like MSI Afterburner. Disable or delete any third-party software you have installed along with Steam overlay and GeForce Experience overlay. This will fix the crashing issue with Yakuza Like a Dragon.
Your GPU could be the reason why Yakuza 7 is crashing. The GPU is either overclocked or old. If the GPU is overclocked, then revert it back to its default GPU clock even if its factory overclocked.
If the GPU is old then the game might be putting too much load on it and causing the crash. Use MSI Afterburner to reduce the GPU clock by 100 MHz. In case you don’t want to mess with the GPU clock, then try dropping the game’s graphics settings. If even that isn’t acceptable, then players can limit the game’s max FPS to fix the crashing issue. Open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > select “Yakuza Like A Dragon”. Turn on “Max FPS Limit” and set the value to “30”. This will limit Yakuza Like A Dragon at 30FPS and the game will stop crashing.
Unable To Initialize Steam API Fix
Unable To Initialize Steam API is another error that Yakuza Like A Dragon players are experiencing when they launch the game. Lack of admin rights for Steam might be causing this error. Right-click Steam’s exe > properties > Compatibility tab > check “run this program as administrator” and hit apply. This will fix the error.
If the issue persists, then your anti-virus/Windows Defender might be the culprit behind the “Unable To Initialize Steam API” error. Disable real-time protection and the issue will be fixed.
Also if you haven’t updated your Steam client, then that might be causing the error to occur. Click “Steam” (top-left) > Check for Steam Clients updates. The Steam client will update and the error will be fixed.
Crash At Startup, Game Not Starting Fix
Yakuza 7 crashing at launch or not starting at all is another issue that PC players are reporting. There is a number of reasons behind the Yakuza Like A Dragon crash at launch issue and here are the fixes.
One reason for the game crashing at launch could be the lack of admin rights. Right-click the game > properties > Compatibility tab > check “run this program as administrator” and hit apply. This will fix the issue.
If the game is still crashing at launch, then go to the install folder and launch the game directly from its exe. You might get an error similar to “vcruntime140_1.dll or MSVCP140.dll Was Not Found”. Install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables both x64 and x86 versions. Restart your PC and Yakuza Like A Dragon will launch without crashing.
Your anti-virus/Windows Defender might be blocking important game files. Disable real-time protection or exclude Yakuza’s install folder from it. After that, verify the game files. Launch the game and it won’t crash.

Performance is often an issue with PC video games and Yakuza Like A Dragon players are reporting stuttering and low FPS issues. Here is how to fix it. First, make sure you have installed the latest GPU drivers.
