Windows users report the “XAPOFX1_5.DLL” error, especially after the launch of games like DayZ and Arma 3. The error was found to be a standard audio DLL dependency that went missing and hence led to issues with the games that need to use it. To provide our users with a way out of the “XAPOFX1_5.DLL” error, we devised fixes to help them get rid of it and play their games without any hindrances.

Fix #1: Update DirectX

For users that encounter the “XAPOFX1_5.DLL” error while launching a particular game, then this fix will work for them.

You’ll have to use the DirectX End-User Runtime Web installer to install all the missing DirectX packages so that it is confirmed that every dependency is present to run the game.

To do so, first launch your default browser. Then head to the download page of Direct X End-User Runtime Web Installer and click on Download.

Then, uncheck every bloatware that Microsoft shows and click on No thanks to continue. When the dxwebsetup.exe file has been downloaded, double-click on it and follow all the instructions. After installing all the missing packages, restart your PC.
