Ragetail is one of the bosses you come across in Wild Hearts. He is a Kemono to find so that you won’t miss it. Despite its intimidating looks, Ragetail is not a tough boss to beat. Most of its attacks don’t deal too much damage and are easily avoidable. Ragetail can spit projectiles from a distance, rush toward you, and often uses brute force attacks.

In this guide, we will discuss everything you need to know on how to beat Ragetail by giving tips on the best equipment and weapons to use, sharing his weaknesses, and more.

Ragetail has long teeth, claws, and a tail that will smash you to bits if you’re not careful. The Ragetail boss is aggressive with its swipe and tail attacks.

Best Weapons and Equipment To Use

If you have access to any gear that provides resistance against the Wood attribute, it will prove effective against Ragetail. We recommend using the Fresh Fern armor set. You don’t have to wear the entire set against an early boss like Ragetail, but every piece helps and makes your life easier in your solo attempt.

And as for weapons, any Katana would work like a charm against Ragetail.

How to Beat Ragetail

  • Stun
  • Aim for Its Soft Head
  • Get Behind It Often

Stun

The first thing you need to do is immediately learn how to stun Ragetail. You can use Crates and Bulwarks to do this. Hide behind them and wait for Ragetail to lunge at you and slam into the Crate Karakuri and Bulwarks. This will open up the opportunity to attack the boss but try not to get too greedy and roll away after landing 4-5 hits.

Aim for Its Soft Head

The main weakness of Ragetail is its soft head, so during the entire fight, your primary focus should be to target its head as much as possible. He will leave himself vulnerable after swiping at you, allowing you to land a bunch of hits. The head is also left vulnerable when the boss is stunned by Crate Karakuri and Bulwarks.

Get Behind It Often

While the head is the weakness and should be your focus, you should also make sure to sever its tail as soon as possible. The boss will be vulnerable after swiping at you or running into Karakuri. You can use this opportunity to get behind it by rolling. If you manage to sever part of the tail, half of the boss fight is won already.

When the tail has taken enough damage, Ragetail will enter into rage mode, and his tail and mouth will glow red. The boss fight doesn’t change much in rage mode, and you only need to be careful of when he summons trees from the ground. Rolling away a couple of times while the boss spins and summons trees is enough to counter this phase.
