Looping Catalyst is the last raid challenge for the Vow of the Disciple. This challenge is needed to earn 2x Pinnacles and to complete the Disciple-Slayer seal/title. In this Destiny 2 guide, we have detailed all there is to know about completing Looping Catalyst in the Vow of the Disciple raid.

Vow of the Disciple Looping Catalyst Tips

The weekly challenge can only be done during the Rhulk encounter. Similar to other raid challenges, it is a fairly simple one.

In order to complete the challenge, the team must not lose the Leeching Force throughout the entirety of the encounter – both below and above. Here is how it should work:

  • P1
  • P1 transfer to P2 and P3
  • P3 transfer to P1 and P4
  • P1 and P2 dunk
  • P4 transfer to P3 and P5
  • P5 transfer to P4 and P1
  • P3 and P4 dunk
  • P1 transfer to P5 and P6
  • P5 and P6 dunk

After heading above, do not deposit until the next person has acquired the Leeching Force. It is all fairly simple.

Master Mode Tips

Out of all the challenges on Master, the Rhulk one is the easiest. There are no big differences and all that the players need to do is to take the encounter slow. While double-dunking is still a lot faster, single-dunk can free more people to clear adds which can be troublesome for some teams.

Also, do note that while facing the boss, there will be an Overload on the right and an Unstoppable on the left. There will also be some Hobgoblins with Void shields but those can easily be dealt with using a Voidlock. Another thing to keep in mind is that there is no need to hold the Leeching Force during the DPS phase but this needs to be confirmed.

As for dealing with Rhulk, Sleeper Stimulant paired with a Cartesian Coordinate is good for DPS. As mentioned earlier, there are not a lot of differences when it comes to the Looping Catalyst challenge. Any competent team should be able to do it in a couple of attempts.

This is all we have got in how to complete the Looping Catalyst challenge during the new VotD raid. For more help on the game, be sure to check out our detailed Destiny 2: The Witch Queen wiki page.

  1. This is over complicating it. You can do it with 4 people while the other two add clear and make callouts:

    P3 shoots the main crystal.

    P1 and P4 takes buff from P3.
    P1 and P3 takes buff from P4.
    P1 and P2 dunk.

    P1 and P4 take buff from P3.
    P2 and P3 take buff from P4.
    P1 and P2 dunk.

    P1 and P2 take buff from P3.

This also gets the triumph done as well for double dunks.
