PC video games often face errors and issues and some Valorant players are reporting that the voice chat in the game isn’t working. In this Valorant guide, I will help players with how to fix the Valorant voice chat not working issue.
Valorant Voice Chat Fix
Before we start with the fix, let’s go through some basic steps to make sure that it is indeed an issue instead of being a human error. First, make sure the Windows microphone settings are working fine. Open Settings > System > Sound > click “Manage Sound Devices” under ‘Input’. Make sure the microphone is working and Windows is using the right audio input device.
Also, make sure you have set the right settings in the game’s menu. mMke sure Valorant is using the microphone that you want to use. If you are using the auto-detect your voice instead of Push-to-talk, then switch to Push-to-talk and the issue will be resolved. Apparently for some players, the game causes this issue when auto-detect voice is selected.
Fix #1
In case the microphone is running fine, then Open Settings > System > Sound > Sound Control Panel > Recording. Click once on the input device/microphone you are using and click “set default” if it isn’t greyed out and press Ok. This will fix the voice chat not working issue with Valorant.
Fix #2
If the above fixes didn’t resolve the voice chat issue with the game, then try giving the game admin rights. Right-click Valorant’s exe > Properties > Compatibility tab > check “run this program as administrator” and hit apply. This will fix the voice chat not working issue.
