Valheim Tips, Valheim Blood Pudding Guide

Valheim has a huge world that you can explore and there are plenty of things that you can do. If you are new to this genre of games then things might seem a bit overwhelming when you start off. In this Valheim beginner’s guide, we are going to give you some useful tips and tricks that will make things a bit easier.

Valheim Tips And Tricks

The following are some useful tips and tricks that you should keep in mind when playing Valheim:

Start Off With A House And Bed

This is a survival game so you will need to start small and take things slow. Find a flat area of land in the Meadows and setup and workbench. Build some walls and make a bed. In order to do this, you are going to need to make a hammer by getting wood from trees. With some walls to protect you and a bed, you will be able to rest when it goes dark.

When the sun goes down, the more aggressive creatures are going to come out and you will also need to take on the cold. In order to deal with the cold, you are going to need fire. But note that you are going to need ventilation for the smoke. Be sure to make a chimney or at least a window for the smoke to escape otherwise you will take damage.

Scavenging And Hunting

In order to survive on your own, you will need food and other resources. Luckily you can use your environment to get these. Once you have a small home you can go hunting and explore the area around you. You can get meat from boars, beer and necks early on in the game.

Necks are like reptiles that you can cook. Boars are a bit aggressive and will attack you if you get too close. You can tame them but that is going to take a while. If you are interested in learning about that then you can check out our guide on how you can tame boars in the game.

Deer run away when you get too close so you will need a spear or bow in order to kill them from a distance. Other than animals, you can gather mushrooms and berries. You can pick these up to fill your tummy. They are not going to be as satiating as meat but they are better than staying hungry.

Get More Inventory Space

At the start of the game, you are going to have limited inventory space. You can however make chests that are going to increase your inventory space and allow you to stash items and resources that you might need later on.

This is going to come in handy pretty early on because when the weight that you are carrying passes the 300 mark, your stamina is not going to regenerate. Be sure to stash stuff that you do not need immediately in chests so that you can remain below the 300 weight mark and regenerate your stamina bar. We recommend crafting a couple of chests early on in the game and get to hoarding stone, flint and wood.

Beat Eikthyr

Once you have done all the above, you can take on the first boss called Eikthyr. You will get the location of the boss from the runestone where you started the game in the first place. You can check out our dedicated guide that walks you through how you can beat Eikthyr.
