The happiness of a province is something you’ll actively need to monitor in A Total War Saga: Troy. Allow it to drop too much and you’ll have an uprising on your hands and the possibility of losing the province forever. In this guide, we’ll help you learn all about increasing your province’s happiness high in A Total War Saga: Troy.
A Total War Saga: Troy Happiness
You should be able to check the happiness of a province by opening the ‘Happiness Details’ menu from the ‘Province Details’ menu.
This menu will convey all the important details related to your province’s happiness i.e. current happiness level, changes happening to happiness per turn, different factors affecting happiness, and whether or not you can expect a rebellion from your people.
There are different factors that can affect happiness of a province in negative and positive ways. If your province’s happiness is rapidly deteriorating, you can invest in the following things to counteract it:

| Conquering a province from another faction | Construct happiness-increasing structures |
| Imposing a ridiculous amount of taxes on people | Build garrison units all around the province |
| Playing on a higher difficulty setting such as Legendary | Having your hero stationed in the province for some time |
| Absence of hero, garrison units, and general lack of happiness structures | Play on a lower difficulty setting, as mentioned in difficulty settings guide |
At the end of a day, whether you conquered territory or simply traded it with another faction, there’s always this fear of not meeting up people’s expectations or making some uncalled for errors.
Either way, increasing or decreasing happiness is something that doesn’t happen overnight. It can take quite a while for people to finally rebel against you or you to prevent it.
Lastly, do note that there are some deities in the game such as Zeus, Ares, and most importantly, Aphrodite that provide you with increased happiness when you pray to them so be sure to keep that in mind!
