A constant flow of cash is never a bad thing in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Rupees in Zelda: TOTK is needed for almost everything in the game from upgrading gear to sleeping at inns, purchasing materials, etc. This is why not having a good amount of Rupees on you at almost all the times can be a little frustrating. Luckily, there are some tips that you can use during your normal gameplay to easily farm quite a lot of Rupees (money) in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Farming money in TOTK is fairly simple if you are smart about it. The game does not offer heaps of Rupees every now and then, but the things that you can do while working on the campaign can help a lot. Below, we have shared some tips that will help you easily farm a ton of Rupees in Zelda: TOTK.

Sell Useless Items

During your adventures through Hyrule, you will continue to collect a bunch of different items. However, not all of these items will be useful which brings us to our first point. Whenever you visit a vendor, try to scroll through the inventory and see if there is anything that you will not use. And once you have identified those items, simply sell them. These can include random materials, food items, bad armor pieces, etc. And while this will not make you rich instantly, small things like these add up over time.

Sell Gems

If there is one thing that you should not sell to any random vendor, it is the gems like Topaz, etc. The reason for this is because there is a special vendor named Ramella in Goron City who will pay you extra for gems as compared to other vendors. One thing that you will need to keep in mind is that Ramella asks you to sell your gems in bulk. Therefore, if you do not have 10s or 20s of a gem, she will not bother. This is why you should only visit her whenever you have collected dozens of these gems.

As for their prices, Diamonds remain the most expensive followed by Sapphire, Rubies, etc. Whenever you are exploring Hyrule, be sure to see caves, wells, mountains, etc. for these deposits as they can worth a fortune.

Mini Games

If you love flying, you should head over to the Eventide Island. This is where you will be able to participate in various flying challenges that pay out as much as 100 Rupees each. These challenges require you to control an airplane and land it at the targeted location. There is also a little participation fee which is non-redeemable so if you fail, you will lose money in the process.

Pro Tip

Every now and then you will see a bright blue bunny-like creature. Get close to it without being spotted and smash it as many times as you can. The creature drops rupees every time it gets hit. You can also use an arrow to target it from a distance but that doesn’t yield as good of a result as multiple melee hits.

Similar to this, there is also dart-like mini-game that can pay out as much as 300 Rupees if you are good enough. We definitely recommend trying out these mini-games as they do not take very long and are fairly profitable.

Sell Expensive Recipes

This one is pretty simple. Since you have ingredients scattered all across the world, you should try to sell expensive recipes which can quickly accumulate. However, we do not recommend this because the rare a recipe is, the stronger its effects are.
