The Last of Us 2 New Game Plus

As mentioned earlier, you must’ve completed TLoU2 at least once to start the NG+ mode. Starting the NG+ mode will let you experience the game once more with all the upgrades and equipment from your first playthrough. To start it, simply head over to the Main Menu after beating the game and select “New Game+”.

Now that you know how to start the NG+ mode, let’s talk about things that you’ll carry over to your next playthrough.

When transitioning to NG+, you’ll get to keep your upgrades, crafting recipes, weapons, etc. However, you must make it to Seattle to be able to use the weapons. Another obvious addition that you’ll experience in NG+ is a slight ramp up in terms of difficulty. It won’t have you pulling out your hair but it’s still noticeable.

Also, do note that starting the game on NG+ won’t automatically delete your NG saves. If you choose to revisit a chapter on NG, you should still be able to load your NG save without any issues. We definitely recommend trying the game the NG+ mode at least once. Having all your gear and upgrades with you tends to change certain in-game encounters by a great degree so make sure to try it out if you’ve got time.
