The Callisto Protocol is all about survival, the game does not give you a lot of ammo to deal with enemies and neither does it give you a lot of in-game currency to upgrade your gear. You will need all the help that you can get in order to survive. In this Callisto Protocol beginner’s guide, we go over some tips and tricks that will help you survive.
Callisto Protocol Tips And Tricks
The following are some useful tips and tricks that will help you survive in Callisto Protocol:
You Can Block The Acidic Spit Attacks
Enemies will attack you with acid spit. You can block these attacks by moving back. This will make the protagonist put his guard up and block the incoming attack. You can also use your telekinesis abilities on the dead bodies around you to shield yourself from incoming acid projectiles.
Alternate Your Dodges
If you try dodging attacks twice in the same direction, it is not going to work. Try alternating and get used to it. This will keep you from getting attacked and will increase your chances of survival.
Remember To Stomp On Enemy Corpses
If you have played Dead Space then you might remember this one. Remember to stomp on enemy corpses as they can often drop ammo, health, and currency. We recommend not using healing items until you have stomped on all the enemy corpses. This will save your healing items for later. Resources and currency are scarce in the game so do not waste healing items. Keep them for when you really need them.
Upgrade The Baton From The Start
The Baton is going to come in handy when you need to get up close and personal with enemies. Since the game does not give you a lot of ammo, you will need to use the Baton often. Upgrade it to unlock heavy attacks, perks, and deal more damage. You will use the Baton throughout the game, so it is worth investing in. You can check out our guide on which upgrades you should get first for more details.
Make Use Of Your Environment
You are able to throw enemies in spikes on the walls and even fans. By doing this you can save up on ammo and deal with enemies. We recommend getting creative and killing enemies by using your abilities and the environment in order to conserve resources.
Glass Walls And Windows Can Be Broken
You can break glass walls and windows with your Baton. Doing this will reward you with extra ammo that is going to be very helpful indeed.
Use Telekinesis To Access Boxes That Are Out Of Reach
You can pull boxes closer to you using your telekinesis abilities. Once a box is on the ground, you can stomp on it. You can also throw them at enemies. They do not do a lot of damage but you can get additional resources.
Explore
We recommend exploring alternate pathways in order to find resources that might come in handy. Once you have taken out the enemies in an area you should look around a bit for secrets and loot. Some secrets require some backtracking such as the Skunk Gun, which is a powerful weapon you can get early on but can easily be missed.
Avoid Throwing Enemies Off The Map
Throwing enemies off the map can be fun but keep in mind that when you do that you can no longer stomp on them and get loot.
Keep Your Guns Loaded
We recommend reloading and having your guns ready to go at all times. You will not have enough time to keep reloading during fight and every shot makes a difference.
Aim For The Legs
Aiming for the head might be the way to go in FPS games but even headless enemies can come at you in Callisto Protocol. Instead of aiming for the head we recommend going for the legs. This will slow down enemies and keep them away from you.
Music Reveals Enemies
When the music dies down, this means that enemies around you are dead as well. This can reveal whether you are going to be ambushed by an enemy or not. Pay close attention to the music and this should help you survive longer.
