Here I have compiled a list of errors and issues with the game along with their fixes and workarounds.

Teardown Crash, Audio Stutter, And Fixes

Teardown is the latest title to release as Steam Early Access and has become quite popular coming PC gamers. Given that the game is still in development, players are reporting errors and issues with Teardown like the crash at launch, Application Load Error 3:0000065432, SetProcessDpiAwarenessContext procedure not found, stuttering, and more.

The following are the errors and issues that PC players are experiencing align with their fixes and workarounds.

Application Load Error Fix

Application Load Error 3:0000065432 is one of the errors that Teardown players are experiencing and here is how to fix it. This particular error might be occurring due to your anti-virus or Windows security. It can be fixed by disabling real-time protection. The process varies from anti-virus to anti-virus but for Windows Security, open Windows Security > Virus & Threat Protection > click “Manage Settings” under “Virus & Threat Protection settings” > turn off “real-time protection”. This will fix the error and Teardown will launch without any issue.

In case the Application Load Error persists, then the Steam files might be corrupt. Uninstall Steam and reinstall it to fix the error.

Game Not Starting, Crash At Startup Fix

A lot of PC players are reporting that Teardown is crashing at startup or not starting at all. Furthermore, some players get errors like “Application load error 3:0000065432” while others don’t even get an error message when the game crashes. There are multiple reasons behind the Teardown crash at launch and here are the fixes.

First, make sure you are playing Teardown on updated Windows 10 as the game doesn’t support Windows 7 and 8.

Lack of admin rights is one reason why the game is crashing at launch. Right-click Teardown’s exe > properties > Compatibility tab > check “Run this program as administrator” and hit apply. This will fix the game crashing at launch issue.

Your anti-virus/Windows Defender might be blocking important game files. Either disable real-time protection or exclude the game’s folder from it. After that, verify game files and the issue will be fixed.

If the issue persists, right-click Teardown in Steam library > Properties > Local Files tab > click Browse Local Files. Launch the game directly from its exe and chances are players will get an error similar to “vcruntime140_1.dll or MSVCP140.dll Was Not Found”. This can be easily fixed by installing Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables both x64 and x86 versions.

SetProcessDpiAwarenessContext Procedure Not Found Fix

Teardown players are reporting that they are experiencing the following error when they launch the game on Windows 7.

The entry point to the SetProcessDpiAwarenessContext procedure was not found in the DLL USER32.dll

Currently, the game only supports Windows 10. However, devs have confirmed that they are working on a fix for Windows 7. Players will have to wait a bit for a patch to arrive to fix the SetProcessDpiAwarenessContext error.

Dual Monitor Fix

Teardown PC players are having trouble running the game on a dual-monitor setup. According to players, when they launch the game on a dual-display setup it force opens on the smaller one but then they can’t interact with the game menus. If they click on the other blacked out monitor it then opens up a duplicate menu screen that they can partly interact with that is also slightly out of sync with the other one.

This can be easily fixed, go to Documents/Teardown and change the value to 2 under the display. This will fix the dual-monitor issues with Teardown.

Audio Stuttering Fix

Players are reporting that they are experiencing audio stutter while playing Teardown. One reason for the game’s audio stutter is the Steam overlay. Disable Steam overlay and the issue will be fixed.

In case the audio is still stuttering, disable in-game v.sync and close the game. Open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > select Teardown. Set Vertical Sync to “Fast” and hit apply. This will fix the audio stuttering issue with Teardown.

Crash Fix

Teardown players are reporting that Teardown is crashing randomly while playing. One reason for the game to crash is the use of third-party tools and software like MSI Afterburner. Disable any third-party software you are using along with Steam overlay and GeForce Experience overlay. This will stop the game from crashing.

Another reason for Teardown’s in-game crash could be the GPU. It could be that your GPU is overclocked, old or the game could be putting an unreasonable load on the GPU considering it’s still in Steam Early Access.

If the GPU is overclocked, revert it back to its default GPU clock. In case the GPU is old or the game is putting an unreasonable load on it, use MSI Afterburner to reduce the GPU clock by 100 MHz.

Alternatively, players can try capping Teardown at 30 FPS to reduce both CPU and GPU load. Open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > select Teardown. Turn on “Max FPS Limit” and set the value to 30. This will lock Teardown to 30 FPS and will reduce CPU and GPU load. This will stop Teardown from crashing.

How To Boost FPS, Stuttering Fix

Performance is a common issue among PC video games and Teardown is no exception as players are reporting performance issues like stuttering and low FPS. Here is how to fix it.

First, make sure you have installed the latest GPU driver and make sure there is no background process using too much HDD, CPU, or GPU.

Launch the game and disable in-game v.sync and close the game. Open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > select Teardown and make the following changes.

Anti-aliasing-FXAA – “Off”
Anti-aliasing-Gamma Correction – “Off”
CUDA GPUs – “All”
Low Latency Mode – Ultra.
Set Power Management to “Prefer Maximum Performance”
Shader Cache – “On” only if you are using an HDD. Don’t need to enable it for an SSD.
Set Texture filtering – Quality to “High Performance”
Triple Buffering – “Off”
Vertical Sync – “Fast”

Apply these settings and not only the stuttering will be fixed but, players will see a potential boost in FPS too.
