Reviews for the ASRock Z490 Taichi Motherboard are out now and according to the reviews, the motherboard does indeed have PCIe 4.0. Interestingly, the Intel 10th generation Comet Lake-S CPUs do not support the feature. The ASRock Z490 Taichi Motherboard features both PCIe 3.0 and 4.0 for the M.2 SSDs but if you install one in the PCIe 4.0 slot, the system is not going to recognize the drive. If you do the same in the PCIe 3 slot then the drive will be recognized as it should be. So we can confirm that the Z490 motherboards do indeed come with support for the PCIe 4.0 standard but the Intel CPUs do not support this feature. Upcoming Intel 11th generation CPUs should support this feature but then again why would you pay for a feature that you cannot use. The Intel Z490 motherboards for the upcoming 10th generation CPUs are going to be announced on April 30th. Multiple Z490 motherboard manufacturers including Biostar and Gigabyte have confirmed this. The upcoming Z490 motherboards feature the LGA1200 socket. These upcoming motherboards come with additional features as well. These features include Intel Rapid Storage technology, Integrated USB 3.2 Gen 2 support, advanced core and memory overclocking support, Intel Wi-Fi 6 and features for 4K content.
