A recent data breach has effected 160,000 Nintendo accounts. Nintendo has taken notice of the issue and is investigating the matter. In the meantime, Nintendo has released a statement regarding the data breach. Nintendo mentioned on its official website that there is no evidence that points towards a breach of Nintendo’s database, servers or services. The following is what the Nintendo had to say regarding the matter: While we continue to investigate, we would like to reassure users that there is currently no evidence pointing towards a breach of Nintendo’s databases, servers or services. As one action in our ongoing investigation, we are discontinuing the ability to use a Nintendo Network ID to sign in to a Nintendo Account.
