Cyberpunk 2077

Browsing

It was just two months ago, Cyberpunk 2077 fans were treated to the “breathtaking” announcement which saw Keanu Reeves join the game as the protagonists’ ally (or demise). We thought it cannot get any better than that, but another famous figure has joined the cast. No, it’s not Lady Gaga. Mike Pondsmith has confirmed that he is in Cyberpunk 2077 as well.

Meet Mike Pondsmith, the man behind Cyberpunk (1988)

Mike Pondsmith is the pioneer of the popular role-playing board game, Cyberpunk (later released as 2020) which lay the foundation of the world and setting for 2077. The inspiration for the Interlock System game itself came from the deepest routes of cyberpunk and futuristic worlds of William Gibson and Walter Jon Williams.

Inclusion of the mastermind, the engineer behind the idea that paved the way to Cyberpunk 2077 in the derived product is a good decision on CD Project Red’s part. This confirmation was brought forth by Mr. Pondsmith himself who had to say this in an interview published in Xbox Magazine’s September issue.

I have a role. I actually recorded for one role, but they came up with a different one for me, but I can’t tell you much more than that. And I’m telling you that because there are a lot of fans who are going, ‘He better be in the game somewhere.’

Since the game has a long way to go before release, we understand Pondsmith’s decision to keep the details of his role obscure. With that said, he wasn’t shy about expressing his interests for his character-to-be. He stated:

So I’m in the game. I’m figuring what happens is, you know, at some point, (Johnny Silverhand) is playing his guitar and I’ll come out and play my bass (laughs).”

Even though hypothetical, if the scenario described does turn into reality, it might be a cool bad-ass and memorable moment in the game, between two respected and renowned figures of entertainment.

Hopefully, we’ll have more details about Pondsmith’s character and any others (fingers crossed for more celebrity cameos, including Lady Gaga) as we near the launch of the game. Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release worldwide on April 16th, 2020 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

We are currently in the year 2019 but CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 remain faithful to its late 80’s tabletop roots. In the past three decades, ever since the first edition, the Cyberpunk genre has moved on but CD Projekt RED’s RPG proudly wears its influences on its sleeve, setting up in a still-wired present.

According to Marcin Blacha, the story director of Cyberpunk 2077, the upcoming AAA RPG is not an extension of “our world” in 2077. She explained that it is Mike Pondsmith’s vision of what the future might look like. In that sense, the developers aren’t “modernizing” the tabletop source material.

Cyberpunk 2077 is not an extension of ‘our world’ in 2077, it’s a vision of the future as Mike Pondsmith, and the society in general, I guess, expected the future to look like in the ’80s. In this sense, we’re not modernizing the [tabletop source material] at all, what we are doing is developing those expectations and transgressing ‘twists’ from our reality here and there.

A good example of this, however down-to-earth it may sound, is how we perceive the Internet today – it’s wireless, right? They didn’t have that back in the day, so CP2077 is still mostly wired, full of dark subnets and places you need physical access to jack in. There is the Blackwall, and what’s beyond it does resemble our current web, but again, it’s not exactly our world.

CD Projekt RED is staying true to the original vision of Mike Ponsmith without compromise. We will see the fruits of their hard work on April 16 next year when Cyberpunk 2077 comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Cyberpunk 2077 is not even out yet and we already have news of a sequel. Cyberpunk 2077 sequel is in development, according to a new report from Bankier.pl. The report fromPolish publication reveals there are not two but three games in development for the Cyberpunk series.

Update: It turns out that Google Translation was not as accurate as we thought. CDPR has confirmed that it is not working on 3 Cyberpunk 2077 project. The official statement from the company is as follows:

We currently have a total of five teams working on a number of projects, with three focusing on the development of Cyberpunk 2077.

3 teams are working on finishing Cyberpunk 2077 instead of 3 Cyberpunk games being in development. The rest of the original story is as follows:

It seems CD Projekt RED is going The Witcher route and creating a Cyberpunk trilogy. The story of V won’t end with Cyberpunk 2077. We may also see the return of Silverhand played by John Wick Star Keanu Reeves.

The developing studio has five teams working on various games. Aside from Cyberpunk 2077, Wroclaw branch is working on Cyberpunk multiplayer game. Moreover, there is an “innovative” project in development at CDPR.

It is the same AAA RPG CD Projekt RED announced a few years ago. It is in development alongside Cyberpunk and will release sometime around 2021.

While this is exciting news, it seems CDPR has truly moved on from The Witcher series. Fans who hoped to see The Witcher 4 will have to wait a long time. The development of the next Witcher game may face issues from Andrzej Sapkowski.

Andrzej Sapkowski is the creator of Witcher books and is still bitter over the deal with CDPR.

But fans of The Witcher will be happy to know that The Witcher TV series just got its reveal posters. Many characters including Yennefer and Geralt get shown for the very first time. The White Wolf played Henry Cavill while sorceress Yen played by Anya Chalotra lead the show.

Andrzej Sapkowski is partnering with Netflix for The Witcher TV series. Henry Cavill looks spectacular in Geralt’s costume and his trademark brooding side view.

Henry Cavill As Geralt of Rivia

Anya Chalotra as Yennefer

Freya Allan as the princess Ciri

The Witcher TV series originates from Sapkowski’s books, which has been adapted previously by a best-selling video game franchise. Netflix will share more details about the TV series at Comic-Con on July 19.

The series will air sometime in 2019.

Anita Sarkeesian has been very vocal about Cyberpunk 2077 and how the game and CDPR is sexist. This is in line with the negative articles that media outlets are publishing to cash in on the hype of Cyberpunk 2077. The way I see it, the only way Cyberpunk 2077 and CDPR can be saved from the wrath of Anita Sarkeesian if all the characters were suddenly Muslim(lol).

Anita Sarkeesian had an issue with the naked women in the gameplay footage that was shown in 2018. She mentioned that not a lot of time goes by before we see a naked woman. I guess she missed the naked man in the tub. CDPR did provide an explanation. That did not seem to be enough for Sarkeesian. She mentioned that “this is the most monkey-ass explanation like it’s stunning”. She recently Tweeted the following:

Hey CDPROJEKTRED, I’m always available for consulting cause it sure sounds like you might need it before the whole of the internet drags you for what sounds like some potentially sexist representations… which we all know you’ve struggled with in the past.

In the past suggests that she is talking about The Witcher 3. Which is an adult game that got a lot of praise from critics and fans? The gripe here is that there were too many nude females and naked female bodies. As far as I know and remember, Geralt gets naked plenty of times too and there are naked men in the game. I do admit that sexuality is locked when it comes to Geralt but that is because you are playing as a defined character.

CDPR has already mentioned that sexuality will not be pre-defined in Cyberpunk 2077 and that this should have been something that the devs implemented in The Witcher 3. When it comes to nudity, CDPR is in the business of making art. That is why it takes them so long to make a video game. The fact is that CDPR is a story-teller and there are certain risks that you need to take and certain things that you need to experiment with in order to tell a great story.

Cyberpunk 2077 Muslim Characters

The game is set in 2077 where cyber wear and body modification have become very common. It’s just like botox or plastic surgery in today’s day and age. It is clear that Anita Sarkeesian is just in it for the money and for the hype. If she actually cared gender and race issues she would have seen that Cyberpunk 2077 is the most progressive game ever made. There is no pre-defined gender, multiple races are given prominent roles, and you can even use a woman’s voice on a male body.

CDPR is making something special here.

Changing the game in order to please a fraction of the potential audience could break it. How many things would you have CDPR change? Every group is going to have some kind of issue with Cyberpunk 2077. It seems that Anita Sarkeesian has appointed herself the gatekeeper of the internet without actually reading about the lore of the game and the setting. If she was educated about the lore of Cyberpunk 2077 and how it creates its political commentary, she would not be making these comments in the first place.

What exactly does she want? If she isn’t happy with the current state of Cyberpunk 2077, should we make all characters Muslim? If all in-game characters wore hijab and burkas to cover themselves would she be happy than? That way women and their bodies will not be exploited.

Since she is predictable, her next complaint will be that those women in hijab are oppressed and CD Project RED is an oppressive company.

There is nothing you can do to please people like Anita Sarkeansan. She is a smart woman who could have contributed a lot to the gaming industry. Despite our differences with her it is unfortunate to see her fade away to obscurity. If only she would have made efforts for the betterment of the gaming industry rather than pushing her own bias agenda.

Cyberpunk 2077 E3 2019 was shown to the media behind closed doors. The masses have not seen what the demo was about and what it had to offer. We have heard about it and different publications have given their opinions about it too.

Some images of the Cyberpunk 2077 E3 2019 demo have been published by a Japanese magazine and we will include them below. In one of the screenshots, we see the bike that is part of the Cyberpunk 2077 Collector’s Edition Figurine. It looks great and it is fair to say that CD Projekt RED might allow us to customize it.

Cyberpunk 2077 E3 2019 Demo

We can see the bike, which looks really cool. The following is a rough translation of what is written in the top left corner:

Your bones are probably gonna break exploring Night City on foot (if not, someone will). A lot of vehicles are in the game so make sure to utilise them. V’s beloved red bike”YAIBA KUSANAGI” made its debut in this E3 2019 gameplay demo.

The following is a rough translation of what is written on the Left-hand side:

Lots of Japanese manufacturers are in the game. YAIBA, one of them, produces this monster: “KUSANAGI”. As its name suggests, YAIBA’s name was inspired by a traditional Japanese sword. Being the representation of this game, “KUSANAGI” is also present in the Collector’s Edition as a figure.

The following is a rough translation of what is written above the bike:

Facing the same situation inside the mega mall, “Netrunner” and “Solo” class took different approaches in the demo. As described, “Netrunner” class specialises in hacking network, forcing enemies into self-destruct by hijacking their body…

Type of actions that can only be seen in an era where technology becomes so ubiquitous. On the other hand, “Solo” class attacks enemies head-on. Players can pursue their own style by discovering what they prefer using the varied skill tree, and the most impressive one to me was “Nanowire”. The amount of damage that you can do when you slice your enemies into pieces using a wire emanating red light completely boggled my mind.

Near the end of battle V confronted a tough guy wielding a hammer. We were able to see V overwhelming the enemy by dodging and hitting the enemy’s weak point in the back. A boss fight like this can vary depending on whether you are a “Netrunner” or a “Solo”. To make this game more “techier”, you can even develop a build that specialises in controlling a spider-like robot. Despite being told that there’s a high level of freedom regarding combat, the diversity of it was still beyond our imagination.

The following is a rough translation of what is written on the lower right side:

The real goal of Placide was to unfreeze Bridget. Placide planned to sacrifice V and deal with the agent from the Netwatch as well in the beginning. But V didn’t die. V woke up to hear Johnny’s voice. What exactly is the relationship between Johnny Silverhand (the chip inside V) and V’s immortality? After being resurrected from freezing, Bridget took V into Cyberspace. Alt, a person that Johnny and V are looking for, seemed to be in Cyberspace. What kind of things await?

The following is a rough translation of what is written on the Upper right-hand side:

The demo introduced the gunfight specialist “Solo” approach as well. “Solo” opens locked doors, operates in barrage of bullets, lifts weapons off tripods… in contrast to “Netrunner”, “Solo” displays a more powerful, enforcer-type of combat style. Despite you cannot switch from one build to another, you can develop a hybrid build instead.

We also see some characters that we have not seen before. We have a screenshot that covers most of the characters that were shown in the Cyberpunk 2077 E3 2019 Demo.

Cyberpunk 2077 E3 2019 Demo

Some of these characters are from the 2018 demo but we have some new ones as well. Other than that, we have one more screenshot which is pretty generic. This one does not seem to have anything new when it comes to the images.

Cyberpunk 2077 E3 2019 Demo

CDPR has confirmed that the Cyberpunk 2077 E3 2019 Demo will be revealed later this year so we will be able to learn more then. In the meantime, CDPR has been very vocal about the game and has talked about different aspects of Cyberpunk 2077 including Mods, Exotics, Romances, Street Racing & Prostitutes.

We also looked into the negative press that the game has been getting and how the money trail leads back to Epic Games. Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated games right now and Steam is giving away the game for free as part of the Steam Summer Sale metagame. If you are interested in getting the game for free then do give Steam Grand Prix a try.

Cyberpunk 2077 is releasing on April 16 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Cyberpunk 2077 is all that the gaming community can talk about right now. While the fans are pretty excited about the game, media outlets have some negative reports. We are not going to talk about all that here. In this article, we are going to look into different aspects of Cyberpunk 2077, like mods, exotics, romances, prostitution and more.

New Cyberpunk 2077 Details

Since we got the release date at E3 2019 CDPR has been very vocal about the game. We now have more details about the different aspects of the game. Let’s look into the new details that we have learned about.

You can finish Cyberpunk 2077 without killing anyone

Developers have confirmed that you can finish the game without killing anyone. Cyberpunk 2077 does have non-lethal weapons and there are some choices that you can make in the game that are not violent. Stealth is also an option in the game. There are plenty of ways in which you can approach a situation or mission.

Romance And Prostitutes

Cyberpunk 2077 has adult themes. There is a lot of nudity and sex in the game. CDPR has confirmed that you will be able to have romances in the game. You can choose your sexuality which means that you can choose to be straight, gay, lesbian or bi. You can have meaningful relationships in the game but if you are looking for a quickie then there are prostitutes in Night City.

While V might not have defined sexuality but the NPCs in the game will. You will need to select the right dialogue choices and see what happens. Romances in Cyberpunk 2077 are going to be an interesting aspect. You will have the ability to choose whether you have a meaningful relation or a one night stand with someone. CDPR has mentioned that romances in Cyberpunk 2077 are similar to The Witcher 3.

Why Johny Silverhand Is Not Blonde?

In the lore, Johny Silverhand is blonde. Some fans did not realize that Keanu Reeves was playing Silverhand because he does not have blonde hair. CDPR has confirmed that there is a reason behind that. While the developer did not mention much, CDPR did mention that the chip has gone from hand to hand. So that could be one of the reasons why Johny Silverhand is not blonde in Cyberpunk 2077.

Street Racing

CDPR was asked about the different mini-games and activities that players can take part in Night City. It turns out that CDPR has plenty of activities in mind. You can play a hacking mini-game. Other than that you can visit the shooting range to increase your shooting stats. Street racing is another activity that you can take part in Cyberpunk 2077.

NPC Exotics are confirmed

Exotics people that have advanced cyberwear and have modified themselves to look like cats. While CDPR has not mentioned if the player has access to exotic cyberwear, we have seen and heard of exotic NPCs that will be part of Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 Mod Support

CDPR has confirmed that mod support will not be available at launch. Right now the team is working on finishing the game and polishing it but it is something that the team has in the plans. CDPR knows that there is a modding community that is interested in Cyberpunk 2077.

CDPR Has The Rights To Audio And Visuals

CDPR has the rights to the audio and visuals. The developer has mentioned that creators will be able to create content around the game. Streamers and YouTubers will be pleased to know that the policies around copyrights are similar to The Witcher 3.

Photo Mode

Cyberpunk 2077 has a photo mode. You will be able to take pictures of Night City and the different characters in the game.

Multiple Endings

Cyberpunk 2077 has plenty of options and flexibility when it comes to how you play the game. CDPR has confirmed that there will be multiple endings. The ending will depend on how you play the game and the choices that you make in Cyberpunk 2077. Interestingly, the game also has different starting points as well.

Witcher 3 Composer Working On The Music

Marcin Przybyowicz the composer that worked on the soundtracks of Witcher 3 is working on the soundtrack of Cyberpunk 2077.

VR Drugs
‘Braindances,’ a form of futuristic, drug-like VR, will play a big role. lead gameplay designer Marcin Janiszewski mentioned;”People live someone else’s life while sleeping in the gutter.”

Morality Mechanics

Cyberpunk 2077 does not have morality mechanics. V will be treated differently in the world depending on reputation. A hard morality system won’t be in place.

This is what we know about Cyberpunk 2077, mods, exotics, romances, prostitution and other features right now. Stay tuned for more information.

Let us know what you think about the Steam Summer Sale Grand Prix mini-game and which game you are interested in winning for free. Is it Cyberpunk 2077?

Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt RED has already confirmed that the game will have a lot of sex and nudity. But the romance options go deeper than just sex.

Lead Quest Designer Paweł Sasko has confirmed that romance in Cyberpunk 2077 will be similar to what players experienced in The Witcher 3. Here is what he had to say regarding the matter:

So in terms of romances, you can think that it’s going to be similar to how Witcher 3 was…there were whole plot lines regarding character [romances].

Since the release date reveal, CDPR has been very vocal about the game. We are getting details about the game more frequently now. You can check out the entire conversation below:

Cyberpunk 2077 Romance

Cyberpunk 2077 romance will cover different sexualities and sexual preferences. You can have gay and lesbian interactions if you want to. In the Witcher 3, the character was more define but Cyberpunk 2077 is more flexible. You can choose your character and customize it how you seem fit.

Cyberpunk has been under fire for being a sexist game. I believe that some portion of the population is going to be pissed no matter what you do. Let’s take Cyberpunk 2077 romance options for an example. If you can have multiple romances then people will call the game sexist for objectifying women. If you do not have the option to romance multiple NPCs then haters will say that It’s 2077 and people are not bound by nuclear family anymore. Hence the game is sexist.

Cyberpunk 2077 Romance

I think that CDPR should go with the creative ideas that they have already finalized. Removing something just because it would displease a fraction of the potential fanbase could ending up ruining the game. I mean how many different elements can you remove from the game before it turns into something else entirely?

CDPR has also confirmed that the Cyberpunk 2077 will have multiple starting points. The devs have just revealed some new concept art which you can check out.

Let us know what you think about Cyberpunk 2077 romance and whether or not you are interested in playing the game when it comes out next year.

Cyberpunk 2077 created and published by CD Projekt RED, is releasing on PS4, Xbox One, and PC next year. Cyberpunk 2077 publisher CD Projekt RED works alone in Poland but the company has partnered with Warner Bros. Interactive in the U.S

Warner Bros. is publishing Cyberpunk 2077 in the United States. It won’t be the first time Warner Bros. is working with CD Projekt RED. Previously the company helped publish The Witcher 3 in the United States.

Warner Bros. also collaborated for The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. Cyberpunk 2077 is CD Project RED’s most ambitious project yet. It isn’t surprising to see Cyberpunk 2077 publisher partnering with Warner Bros. in the U.S. CD Projekt Red board member and business development SVP Michał Nowakowski commented on the partnership:

We’ve worked with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and both releases turned out to be really successful, so we’re entering this new stage of our cooperation with great confidence. Cyberpunk 2077 is our biggest and most ambitious project to date, and I’m really looking forward to all the amazing things we can achieve together.

Publisher and developer CD Projekt RED works with various companies outside of Poland. Bandai Namco published The Witcher 3 in Western Europe. Things aren’t changing with the new sci-fi RPG. Bandai Namco is the publisher of Cyberpunk 2077 in Europe. Bandai Namco will publish Cyberpunk 2077 in “selected European markets.”

EU publisher Bandai Namco will cover 24 countries including:

  • Andorra
  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Cyprus
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • France

Few people know there is a multiplayer mode to Cyberpunk 2077.  Digital Scapes is working on multiplayer for Cyberpunk.

Cyberpunk 2077 has multiple starting points indicates quest designer Pawel Sasko. He first implied this feature during an interview with VG24/7 but his wording wasn’t clear enough. One of the fans reached out to Sasko for clarification on Twitter. According to Pawel, he is going to stand by what he said but can’t further comment on it. Pawel Sasko wishes to ignore spoilers but it is pretty clear he can’t speak outside of that interview.

I stand for what I have said but would prefer not to confirm too much here as it’s strongly tied to the story and spoiling it is like a crime to me. I feel you will like it, let’s keep it at that.

Based on what he said in the interview, Cyberpunk 2077 will have different starting points. These starting points depend on the life path you choose at the beginning of the game.

You can be one of the nomads as a player and you can start there, being part of a family of the Nomads. You could call them a tribe that is living in cars and they’re just driving over Badlands. They’re doing various jobs for fixers, and for people in the city, and doing various deals – I don’t want to disclose too much because not to spoil the story.

His statement suggests that players can choose to be part of various groups, tribes, gangs. The feature opens up the room for many playthroughs as part of different groups. New quest lines, dialogues, endings, the possibilities are endless. Cyberpunk 2077 publisher and developer CD Projekt RED creating a deep branching narrative. It seems Cyberpunk 2077 publisher is taking things a few steps forward from The Witcher 3.

There are three primary backgrounds you can choose and each will affect your interactions. For example, if you choose “Street Kid” you will have better luck speaking with gangs as opposed to “Nomad” and “Corporate.”

  • Street Kid — Someone who grew up on the streets
  • Nomad — Ex-Corporate employee fired and blacklisted
  • Corporate — Corporate employee working to secure their interest

Cyberpunk 2077 is releasing on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16, 2020.
