After that, we have a surprise game reveal by Geoff Keighley on May 12. The following are the other events on the schedule:

  • Steam Game Festival Summer Edition – June 9 to 14
  • Cyberpunk 2077 Broadcast – June 11
  • EA Play – June 11
  • Tennocon 2020 – July 11
  • Gamescom Opening Night Live – August 24

The Summer Game Fest schedule is pretty empty but then again this is an early schedule and more events will be added. Microsoft has confirmed that there will be an Inside Xbox stream every month until the launch of the Xbox Series X because there is so much that the company has to share that it cannot be compressed into a single event. Those later events could be added to the Summer Game Fest schedule.

You can subscribe via the official site in order to get an email or you can subscribe to the calendar so that you do not miss any event or game announcements. Since E3 is not going to happen this year, this is the new way of doing things.

We are not sure whether this is something that is going to be permanent but that could be the case keeping in mind that some major publishers and developer no longer attend E3. Some companies such as Sony and EA have events of their own. So this could be the future of E3 or lack thereof.

Let us know what you think about the Summer Game Fest by Geoff Keighley and which game you are excited about or want to see get announced for the Xbox Series X and PS5.
