The Last Priest, a unique variation of the Va’Ruun Painblade, stands out as one of the most potent melee weapons in Starfield. If close-combat is your playstyle, or you just want a reliable backup for those unexpected encounters, this weapon is a must-have. But getting your hands on it isn’t straightforward; it involves moral choices and a bit of persuasion.

The Last Priest is one of the best weapons in Starfield but getting your hands on it requires a little bit of leg work. The good news is that unlike Bombardment and Syndicate, The Last Priest isn’t tied to any Faction questline but there is a side that you need to complete.

How To Find The Last Priest In Starfield

The journey to acquiring The Last Priest begins with the main questline, specifically during the “Unearthed” quest, the 14th mission for the Constellation. You’ll need to side with The Hunter during “Unearthed” to unlock the “Infinity’s End” side quest. During “Infinity’s End,” you must continue to side with The Hunter and decide on the fate of The Keeper. You have the option to kill The Keeper or convince The Hunter that The Keeper is dead, both leading to the reward.

Unearthed Main Quest

“Unearthed” takes you to Luna, where you’ll explore the Nova Galactic Research Station with the goal of finding a way into NASA and gathering information on a prototype grav drive. After completing the mission, you’re faced with a choice between siding with the Emissary or The Hunter, impacting your rewards and the subsequent quests available to you. Escape with the drive and you’ll be approached by Emissary and Hunter.

Your moral compass will be tested when The Hunter asks you to kill The Keeper. You can choose to kill The Keeper, convince him to run away, or convince The Hunter that The Keeper is dead without actually killing him. Each choice has its consequences and rewards. But you need to side with The Hunter to get access to The Last Priest side quest, Infinity’s End.

Dealing With The Choices

In Starfield, you’re going to face some tough choices, and one of them comes up when you meet The Hunter. After you’ve made a big decision between the Emissary and The Hunter, another challenge comes your way. The Hunter, who you now know as Aquilus, has a serious request: they want you to take out The Keeper, who is actually The Hunter’s double from another place!

So, what do you do? Well, you’ve got two options:

  1. The Direct Way: You could go find Keeper Aquilus in New Atlantis and, well, end him. It’s a tough thing to do, but it gets the job done. After that, you just go back to The Hunter and let them know it’s taken care of. Simple, but kind of harsh.
  2. The Sneaky Way: If you’re not into the idea of hurting someone, there’s another way, but it’s a bit trickier. You can talk to Keeper Aquilus and convince him to skip town instead. But your job’s not done there — you’ve got to go back to The Hunter and make them believe that you did the deed. It’s a bit of a fib, but it keeps everyone safe.

No matter what you choose, you end up with The Last Priest. But remember, if you go with the second option, be sure to save your game before you try to persuade anyone. You’ll want to get it just right, and it might take a couple of tries.
