Albacore in Stardew Valley is not the rarest fish out there, but it can definitely be a difficult one because of the strict time window in which it appears. If not for a questline, I believe not a lot of players would have bothered with it since there is not much that it excels at be it recipes, gifts, clothes, etc. In this Stardew Valley guide, we have detailed all there is to know about how to fish an Albacore.

At around 26th of Winter, Gus will ask you to fish an Albacore in order to complete the Fish Stew questline. And while not terribly difficult, the window is very tight. The reason why I recommend completing the questline is for 400x Gold and 1x Friendship Heart so it is definitely worth it. Other than this, there is no decent use for this.

In order to fish Albacore, you will need to wait until Winter/Fall. Aside from this, it is only available on very specific time windows — depends on the season. Therefore, whenever you plan to fish an Albacore, make sure to note the time slots shared below:

  • Fall: 06:00 to 11:00
  • Winter: 18:00 to 02:00

There is no other requirements such as weather condition, level, etc. Just head over to the Ocean in the aforementioned seasons at the correct time window to obtain it. Once acquired, an Albacore can be sold for about 100 Gold. Alternatively, you can also consume it for +11 Health and +25 Energy.

This is all we have got in how to catch Albacore in Stardew Valley. You can check out our detailed Stardew Valley wiki page for other tips and strategies.
