While the game does feature a lot of different mounts, they are nowhere close to instantly zapping to a different area. The ability to Fast Travel is fairly simple and does not have any pre-requisites.
In order to Fast Travel in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, all you need to do is to find a Mediation Point. These are similar to how Bonfires worked in Dark Souls games. While resting at a Meditation Point, you will be able to select any other Meditation Point and instantly travel to it.
