You can find a total of 39 Bottled Messages in the Sea of Solitude. Alongside Seagulls, you need to find all these Bottled Messages to 100% the game and unlock the “Platinum” trophy. However, finding them can get a little tedious since some of them are well-hidden. Locating all the Bottled Messages will unlock “Uncorked” and “Bottled” trophies.
Sea of Solitude Bottled Messages
None of the collectibles in Sea of Solitude are missable. You can always replay any chapter from different checkpoints and collect your missing collectibles. Before we begin, do note that Chapter #9 and Chapter #11 don’t contain any collectibles – be it Seagulls or Bottled Messages.

Chapter #1 – Back to Black
First of all, that’s a cool reference to AC/DC. With that out of the way, you can find a total of 7 Bottled Messages in the first chapter.
Bottled Message #1
From the Light in the Dark checkpoint, meet up with the whale and turn left to find it.
Bottled Message #2
You need to load into Calming Down checkpoint, clear the buoy and head to the nearby rooftop. You need to head left from the rooftop and find it.
Bottled Message #3
Once again, load into Calming Down checkpoint and climb on the opposite rooftop from where you obtained the Bottled Message #2 to find it.
Bottled Message #4
After loading into Calming Down checkpoint, jump into the water and swim toward the ladder. Climb up the ladder to head inside a room with the collectible on top of a sofa.
Bottled Message #5
You’ll find this collectible inside the greenhouse accessed during Calming Down checkpoint.
Bottled Message #6
From the Calming Down checkpoint, you need to look for a red ladder right next to a chimney. You need to take the ladder down to a terrace with a collectible.
Bottled Message #7
This one is under a roof right next to a sign that says, “Bistro”.
Chapter #2 – Mixed Emotions
There are 5 Bottled Messages that you can find in the second chapter. Similar to the first one, we have shared the checkpoint you should take if you’re planning to get these collectibles after completing the game.
Bottled Message #8
This one is located near ‘Follow the Monster’ checkpoint. You need to head left after encountering the large bird to find it.
Bottled Message #9
From the previous collectible, you need to jump down onto the chimneys and head straight toward the floor to find it. This one is also located near ‘Follow the Monster’ checkpoint.
Bottled Message #10
After loading into ‘Dangerous Waters’ checkpoint, wait for the water levels to rise and follow the light to a red ladder. You need to head up and find the collectible next to a lighthouse-looking structure.
Bottled Message #11
You need to load into ‘Dangerous Waters’ checkpoint, swim around the area, and head up the red ladder. Continue straight along the path and turn left to find the collectible.
Bottled Message #12
Once again, load into ‘Dangerous Waters’ checkpoint, head a little back and stand on top of the large sign. Once done, jump into the water and turn right near a large whale (that can eat you if you don’t reach the collectible quickly) to find it on a rooftop.
Chapter #3 – The Sound of Silence
You can find a total of 5 Bottle Message collectibles in the third chapter of the game. Once again, we’ve detailed the checkpoints you should take if you’re collecting them after beating the game.
Bottled Message #13
After loading into ‘Train Station’ checkpoint, you need to turn left toward the bird to find the collectible.
Bottled Message #14
Once again, load into ‘Train Station’ checkpoint, head straight through the wooden scaffolding, and turn left at the end of the hallway to find the collectible.
Bottled Message #15
This time, you need to load into ‘Dangerous Ocean’ checkpoint. From there, you need to proceed toward the red building right next to the Magazin building. You need to swim across the building on your right-hand side and find the collectible behind a dome.
Bottled Message #16
Once again, use the ‘Dangerous Ocean’ checkpoint, climb up the structure from the previous Bottle Message, and turn right to find it.
Bottled Message #17
For the final collectible of this chapter, you need to load into ‘Dangerous Ocean’ checkpoint.
After loading, continue to follow the light to open water with some rafts. You need to turn around from the first raft to see a building with three windows. You need to swim there and find the collectible hiding behind a chimney.
Chapter #4 – Don’t Give Up on Me
There are a total of 7 Bottled Messages you can find in this chapter. Please refer to the checkpoint mentioned in the locations to get a clearer understanding of where you need to go.
Bottled Message #18
After loading into ‘Hiding’ checkpoint, you need to head over to the top of the station’s lower rooftop to find it.
Bottled Message #19
Once again, load into ‘Hiding’ checkpoint and travel to the opposite end of the second bridge from where you spawn. The collectible is on top of a rooftop.
Bottled Message #20
From the previous collectible, exit the nearby building and proceed toward the next set of buildings on the left side. You need to continue left from there to find the collectible sitting in a corner on a rooftop.
Bottled Message #21
From the previous collectible, you need to turn left and continue straight until you come across a large, empty rooftop. Once there, face the area where you spawned and continue on the path. You’ll eventually find the collectible on a rooftop.
Bottled Message #22
To obtain this collectible, you need to load into ‘Bottom of the Ocean’ checkpoint and try to locate a big train car on the railways. The collectible is on the rooftops left of the train car.
Bottled Message #23
After loading into ‘What Really Happened’ checkpoint, you need to head downstairs in the train station and find the collectible at the bottom of the stairway.
Bottled Message #24
For the final collectible of this chapter, you need to load into ‘Humiliation’ checkpoint and turn right after heading inside Turnhalle.
Chapter #5 – Don’t Give Up on Me
There are only two Bottled Messages that you can find in Chapter #5. To obtain both of these collectibles, you need to load into ‘The Monsters I Call Family’ checkpoint from the Chapter Selection screen.
Bottled Message #25
While following the light to proceed through the chapter, you’ll eventually stumble upon this collectible after turning left.
Bottled Message #26
After you climb the red ladder and dive back into the water, swim the way you came from and use the waves to climb onto a sign followed by jumping from a ledge to find the collectible at the end of a ledge.
Chapter #6 – Hurt
There are a total of 6 Bottled Messages you can find in this chapter. Similar to Chapter #5, you need to load into ‘The Depths’ checkpoint in order to find all of these collectibles.
Bottled Message #27
From the start of the chapter, you need to turn left and use the wind to float up a level. Once done, drop down to find the first collectible.
Bottled Message #28
From the previous collectible, you need to head up another level and drop down to find another collectible.
Bottled Message #29
From the previous collectible, you need to retrace your steps and go up another level and find a crossroads. The collectible is on the left side of the crossroads.
Bottled Message #30
Once again, go up another level from the previous collectible and drop down to find this collectible.
Bottled Message #31
After you head down from a couple of red ladders, continue straight toward the end to find the collectible.
Bottled Message #32
After you get to the area where you’re forced to use metal sheets to make progress, turn around and head right to drop down a ladder. Once you’re done, take the only available path to find the final Bottled Message of Chapter #6.
Chapter #7 – Burning Down the House
You can find 7 Bottled Messages in Chapter #7 of the Sea of Solitude. Refer to the checkpoints you should take in order to find all these collectibles quickly and easily.
Bottled Message #33
After loading into ‘Kids’ checkpoint, you need to head inside the blue container and toward the railway bridge on the right side to find it.
Bottled Message #34
For this collectible, you need to load into ‘Subway to the Past’ checkpoint and head to an underground area with the fluorescent kids to find it inside a train.
Bottled Message (#35, #36, and #37)
You can obtain all of these Bottled Messages from ‘She Still Hates Me’ checkpoint of the chapter. You can find them in the same area as the Monster Shell – one is under a porch and the two are in the corners of the area.
Bottled Message #38
Once again, you need to load into ‘She Still Hates Me’ checkpoint and check the rooftops of the area of the squares to find it.
Bottled Message #39
For the final Bottled Message of Sea of Solitude, you need to load into ‘She Still Hates Me’ checkpoint. You’ll find the collectible near the area where the Monster Shell is after defeated.
