Scalebound Is Not Coming To Xbox Series X Confirms Phil Spencer

Scalebound Xbox Series X

Scalebound was canceled a while back but fans hoped that somehow it would be made. Fans hoped that maybe Microsoft would work on the game again and that Scalebound would be a major launch title for Xbox Series X. Phil Spencer addressed the matter and confirmed that the game is dead.

Spencer talked about Scalebound and mentioned that the game is not coming to Xbox Series X because it is not in development. Platinum is not working on the game either. The following is what he had to say regarding the matter:

We’re not working on it. I’m not at Platinum today, but I’m almost positive they’re not working on it. It’s something we’ve all moved past and it’s not a moment I see as a high point in my role, having to cancel a game that we’d talked about for years. But yeah, for the people out there thinking that maybe there’s something still in the works: there’s not.

I know that this is not something that fans want to hear and I myself wanted to play the game and hoped that maybe Scalebound could be released at some point in the future. But there you have it. Spencer has confirmed that the game is not in development and that it is not coming out.

We loved some of the ideas that we were trying to go do and obviously we wanted to be able to ship a great game to our customers… so, of course, we’re going to be a little upset that we weren’t able to deliver our goals for that title.

The cancellation of Scalebound upset Spencer greatly and that was clear in the interview. If you are interested in learning more then you can check out the whole interview below:
