Red Dead Redemption 2 PC unlocks today and PC gamers are very excited to play the game at 60 FPS. However, those with high-end systems might be disappointed as their systems might not be able to squeeze 60 FPS.
Not only Nvidia has rolled out game ready drivers for the game but also rolled out benchmarks results too. According to the benchmarks, the Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti is only able to deliver 60 FPS at 4K if Red Dead Redemption 2’s graphical settings are set at medium or high.
Even with an Intel Core i9-9900K and 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, the GPU isn’t able to deliver 4K/60 FPS at Ultra settings for Red Dead Redemption 2 PC version.
However, this doesn’t mean RTX 2080 Ti is a bad GPU or RDR2 PC is unoptimized. The game itself is incredibly detailed and is one of the best looking games on consoles. Obviously, the level of detail will impact performance.
Aside from RTX 2080 Ti, the benchmarks also listed the expected graphics settings for 60 FPS for RTX 2060 and RTX 2070 Super. For 1440p/60 FPS you will require Nvidia RTX 2070 Super with the game being set at High graphics pre-set.
For 1080p/60 FPS, players would require Nvidia RTX 2060 at high graphical settings. Also, these are just pre-launch numbers, hopefully, this could be fixed with a future patch. Once the game launches, we’ll know for sure if these benchmark results are correct or not.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is an open-world action-adventure game developed by Rockstar Games for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
