Parrying is one of the most useful features in Resident Evil 4 Remake. This basically lets you counter-attack a foe without instead of receiving damage. And while the timing is not as tight as Elden Ring, Dark Souls, etc., it still is pretty hard to do consistently. To help you with this, in this guide, we have shared some tips that will help you learn the art of parrying in Resident Evil 4 Remake.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Parrying Tips
First of all, do note that you can only parry with a Knife. It does not work with any other weapon. To put it simply, you just need to press L1, LB, or Space the moment a foe is about to attack. If done correctly, you will need to press the on-screen prompt to initiate a counter-attack. This will not only damage the attacker but also all the nearby enemies.
For players who do not know, the parrying window is the exact length of the Knife’s swing animation. And as mentioned earlier, this window is fairly long. Even if you press the button early, you will most likely get it.
Also, do note that repetedly parrying damages the Knife which is why it is important to keep it in good shape. There are also multiple Knives that you can get in the game. Since the parrying timing is very lenient, you can sometimes get away with spamming the parrying button. It is much better if you learnt the timing though.
Can I Parry Everything?
Another important thing that you need to keep in mind is that not every attack can be parried. An example of this is Heavy Attacks which cannot be parried. It is also possible to parry an unarmed attack. Parrying an unarmed attack causes Leon to dismember the limb.
