Summoner is one of the secret Archetypes in Remnant 2. Unlike the five Archetypes that are available from the start, unlocking the Summoner requires you to do a bit of legwork. It is a fairly unique class that commands a minion army in combat – kind of like a Necromancer in other games. But since the game does not give you any hints, it is completely possible to finish Remnant 2 without unlocking the Summoner. In this guide, we will provide step-by-step instructions on how to easily unlock the Summoner in Remnant 2.
Unlocking the Summoner in Remnant 2
In order to unlock the Summoner, you will need to find the Bloodmoon Altar in the Yaesha region. And since it can appear in a few different places, it can be a little tough to find.
After you have found the Bloodmoon Altar, you will need to farm 15x Bloodmoon Essence. It is a fairly rare resource that you farm during the Blood Moon. While exploring The Far Woods, Yaesha during the Blood Moon, you will notice some reddish orbs floating (Root Wisps) in the air. Shooting these floating orbs will drop the Bloodmoon Essence you need.
After you are done, return to the Bloodmoon Altar with 15x Bloodmoon Essence to receive the Faded Grimoire. You will also need some Scraps and Lumenite Crystals – nothing too bad!
With the Faded Grimoire in hand, you need to go to Wallace in Ward 13. He should be somewhere around an empty shack right next to the dock. You will need to get the Tome of the Bringer from Wallace for:
- 10x Lumenite Crystals
- 1,000 Scrap
- 1x Faded Grimoire
Now all that you need to do is to equip the Tome of the Bringer into one of the Archetype slots to unlock the Summoner.
Summoner Perks
Summoner has access to some really interesting Perks focusing on sacrificing your minions to get different combat advantages. Here is a brief rundown of the Summoner Perks in Remnant 2:
Summoner Perks | Effects |
Dominator | Mod Damage and Skill Damage are increased by 3.5% while a minion is active. You can sacrifice a minion to get 3% increased damage for 30 seconds. |
Residue | When a minion dies, it leaves behind a 3-meter healing aura that heals you for 2.5% HP per second for 30 seconds. |
Outrage | Each minion that you sacrifice gives you 3% lifesteal for 10 seconds. |
Incite | Each minion that you sacrifice gives you a 3% lifesteal for 10 seconds. |
Minion: Hollow | Sacrifice 15% of your HP to summon a Root Hollow Minion. |
Minion: Flyer | Sacrifice 10% of your HP to summon a Root Flyer Minion. |
Minion: Reaver | Sacrifice 35% of your HP to summon a Root Reaver Minion. |
How to Farm Blood Moon
One of the hardest things you will experience while trying to unlock the Summoner is getting the Blood Moon since it is so reliant on RNG. Without the Blood Moon, you will not be able to farm Blood Essences needed to use at the Blood Altar.
If you continue to reroll, you will need around 30-40 tries in order to get it unless you have a really good RNG. There is, however, a way that is much quicker.
In order to do it, you need to complete the first dungeon in Yaesha and get to the second Overworld area in the forest. Once there, you will need to do the following:
- Enter the zone and check if there is a Blood Moon.
- If it is not there, you will need to head through one of the gold doors into another zone.
- After loading, turn around and quickly return to the Overworld.
- Once again, check for the Blood Moon. If it is not there, continue to repeat the previous steps.
While this method is still reliant on RNG, it is considerably faster than a few people trying to reroll Adventure Mode repeatedly as it involves returning to Ward 13 every now and then. Another thing that you need to keep in mind is that killing the Doe does not affect the spawn-rate of Blood Moon in any way. Blood Moon is also not infinite — it will only appear for around 40 minutes before fading away. Also, the number of Blood Wisps largely varies depending on the area. But with this method, it should be enough Blood Wisps for you to purchase everything.
