Remnant 2 has a perfectly enjoyable solo experience but it is even more fun with friends in online co-op. Not only it is more fun in co-op, you can never go wrong with having a few extra hands against some of the more challenging bosses or while solving one of many puzzles that you will come across. Sadly, the ability to play in co-op is not something that is available from the beginning. You will need to go through a few hoops to unlock it. Remnant 2 Invite Friends for Co-op
To unlock co-op in Remnant 2, you will need to finish the Tutorial which should not be more than 10 minutes. To start playing co-op with two players, you will need to interact with the World Stone after reaching Ward 13.
How to Invite Friends
After unlocking the co-op, you can invite your friends by opening the Friends section in the Main Menu. From there, you can send invites to the friends you want to join your session. If you want to play with random people, you can set your game to Public from the Main Menu which will let anyone playing Remnant 2 join your game. Remember that you will need to revive everyone who joins your session at the World Stone.
Alternatively, if you want to join a random co-op game, open the co-op menu from the World Stone and select Join Game. You will be asked to choose the difficulty after which you will see a list of available co-op sessions. After you join a session, the host will need to revive you at the World Stone before you can play.
Lastly, if you do not want anything to do with co-op, you can switch your settings to Play Offline. It is that simple!
Loot Sharing
This is probably the most asked question right now. While you are playing in a co-op session, loot is shared among the group. This means that any loot acquired will be obtained by everyone. You will not have to do multiple playthroughs to get desired items.
Is It Cross-Platform?
As of this article, Remnant 2 is not cross-platform. Therefore, if you have friends on a different platform, you will not be able to play together. Hopefully, Gunfire Games is working on making it work but until then, you are out of luck.

If I invite a friend after I’ve cleared an area can they still go back and get any items I may have already picked up?
You can. You won’t see the item but they will. In one or two isolated cases, picking up an item triggers a boss fight. In such cases, it can softlock the instance but nothing that a quick restart can’t fix.
