Venom is the second-last boss that you face in Remnant 2. He is a massive flying creature who hits really hard, especially on Nightmare or higher. Many of the people I have talked to believe that Venom can present a tougher challenge than Annihilation if you are unprepared. In this guide, we will go over everything you need to know about defeating Venom in Remnant 2.
Remnant 2 Venom
To find Venom, you will need to reach the Corrupted Harbor in Root Earth. Since he is a flying boss, do yourself a favor and do not use a Melee Build. It is not impossible with a Melee Build but why push yourself through that?
Venom’s Attacks
Before discussing the strategies to beat Venom in Remnant 2, here is a complete list of his attacks.
Sword Thrust | It is a 2-hit attack which you can avoid by dodging sideways. |
Sword Throw | Venom launches its sword followed by a large AoE blast. Once again, you can dodge sideways to avoid it. |
Sword Slam | If you see Venom slamming his sword into the ground, it is about to do a large AoE explosion. It is a little tough to dodge since it needs the perfect timing. |
Orb | You will have a homing orb chasing you around. After a while, it detonates but you can just outrun it. |
Bombs | This one is simple enough. If you see any bombs on the ground, stay out of the blast radius. |
Roots | You will see some Roots sprouting out of the ground. Try to destroy these if possible. |
Meteors | Whenever you see red circles on the ground, run away to a different spot. These circles also have a lingering effect that can one-shot almost any build on Apocalypse. |
There are some other attacks but those should not be too hard to dodge. We have listed all the scary ones in the table above.
How to Defeat
As mentioned earlier, Venom is a flying boss which is why it is a good idea to switch to a Ranged Build if possible. Some of the weapons that we recommend include:
- Merciless
- Chicago Typewriter
- Meridian
- Alpha-Omega
- Blackmaw AR-47
- Crescent Moon
- Nebula
- Nightfall
- Widowmaker
As for the Mutators, we recommend things like Bandit, Momentum, Slayer, Harmonizer, etc. As for Weapon Mods, you cannot go wrong with Hot Shot, Firestorm, Corrosive Rounds, etc.
While it is hard to do so with him flying around constantly, but you should try to hit his weakspot i.e. his glowing chest. If you are using automatic weapons, investing in Handling can be worthwhile. Summoner and Engineer can also help draw the heat a little while you reposition yourself, heal up, or something like that. But at the end of the day, it all boils down to staying alive while pumping out as damage as you possibly can.
Rewards
Once you have defeated Venom, you will get these rewards:
- Lumenite Crystals 4x
- Tome of Knowledge
- Scrap
- Dread Core to craft the Skewer — Weapon Mod
This should help you easily defeat Venom in Remnant 2. Be sure to see our detailed Remnant 2 wiki page for more help on the game.
