Redfall is out now and we get the familiar formula from Arkane. Not only is this is new IP but it is a challenging game, especially if you are going in solo. Things can get overwhelming quickly and you might not know the best course of action. In this Redfall beginner’s guide, we review some useful tips and tricks to make you a better vampire hunter.
Redfall Tips And Tricks
The following are some of the tips and tricks that you should keep in mind when playing Redfall:
Unlock Fast Travel Points Early On
Fast travel points allow you to move from point A to point B quickly. Unlocking these early on can save you a lot of time. We recommend unlocking the safehouse and the historical markers early on to save time later on. Not only can you fast travel to these locations but you can also respawn at them when you die.
Loot Everything
We recommend looking around and picking up everything that you find. Loot can include money, ammo, and weapons. Vendors are pretty expensive in the game and you will need to spend a lot of money. So pick up everything that you find even though this might seem a bit excessive, it is going to help you out down the line. Even if you do not need an item, you can scrap it for money.
Hold Onto Those Medkits
Medkits should be used as a last resort since they do not provide much healing, take time to be used, and are uncommon. You should only use them as a last resort if it seems like you won’t make it without using one. Alternatively, you can use drinks or food to heal you. So you should head into a house and raid the kitchen to find edibles that will heal you. Since you can only hold 5 medkits at a time, healing is limited.
Keep A Lock Pick And Rewire Kit
As you progress the game, you will come across areas that are locked this is where a lock pick or rewire kit is going to come in handy. These can provide access to some houses and areas that are going to make your runs easier. At times you will need one to progress the mission and it is going to be a hassle to head back and try to find one. Furthermore, you should not use your last lock pick on a small safe. Keep it for emergencies.
Vampires Are Very Challenging
The Vampires in Redfall are not like humans or cultists. They can take a lot of damage are harder to take down and can deal a lot of damage as well. They only get harder to beat as you progress the game. You should keep your distance and bring your big guns to take them out. You should also keep an eye on the time of day since vampires cannot come out in the sun. During the day they will only be found indoors but at night they will come out. Battle Progress Carries Over
The damage you have dealt to vampires will stick even when you die. This does not apply to the Rook or major bosses. But if you are finding it difficult to progress then you can deal damage, die and come back to deal more damage until the vampire dies. This will come in handy for solo players.
Avoid The Red Mist
While you are in the red mist, your movement is slowed and you receive damage over time. You should avoid this at all costs. You can also check out our guide on how you can clear the red mist when it cannot be avoided.
