Pokemon Sword And Shield Shiny Pokemon

Shiny Pokemon and different colors and cool effects. Like previous games, Pokemon Sword and Shield have shiny Pokemon as well. In this guide, we are going to go over how you can get shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

There are a few things that you should know about before you start your adventure and hunt for shiny Pokemon. Firstly the starter Pokemon are not shiny in the new game so restarting or resetting your game over and over again is not going to do the trick this time around.

Secondly, you will always be able to catch a shiny Pokemon. Rest assured that if a Pokemon is too high of a level for you to catch then it will not be shiny. Lastly, shiny Pokemon will not show up as shiny in the overworld. This means that you will need to engage the Pokemon to see whether it is shiny or not. They will look normal in the open world.

Now that we have got that out of the way, we can talk about how you can get shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

What you need to do is find the Pokemon that you want a shiny version of. Go battle it and knock it out. Repeat the process until you find the shiny Pokemon that you are looking for. There are two major factors that will improve your chances of finding a shiny Pokemon.

Firstly, you have the combo chaining system. Unlike Lets Go, you cannot see what combo number you are on the screen. Once you get to the combo of 25, you will have the highest chance of getting a shiny Pokemon.

Knocking out the same Pokemon 25 times will do the trick. The game is new so we are not sure if catching the Pokemon will have the same effect. To be on the safe side you can knock out the Pokemon a total of 25 times in order to get the combo chair to the max.

We are also not sure what will break the combo chain but it is safe to say that catching or knocking out a different Pokemon will break the combo chain. You do not want to do that if you are interested in catching shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

If you do encounter any other Pokemon by accident you can run away and not catch or knock it out but we are not 100% sure if that is not going to break the combo chain.
