Every single Pokemon that can be found in Pokemon: Scarlet and Violet has a Nature assigned to it. This basically enhances a random stat by +10 and negatively affect another stat by -10. Due to randomness of the entire thing, it’s possible that a creature has -10 to a stat that it relies on the most. That’s where the ability to change the Nature of a Pokemon comes in. In this Pokemon: Scarlet and Violet guide, we’ve detailed all there is to learn about changing the Nature of a Pokemon.
In order to change the Nature of a Pokemon, you need to acquire an item called Mint. Once it’s been acquired, all that you need to do is to feed it to your desired Pokemon. By doing so, one of five stats will get boosted by +10 points and another one will get reduced by -10 points — these stats are Special Attack, Special Defense, Attack, Defense, and Speed.
Another important thing that you need to keep in mind is that these Mints are deterministic — no RNG involved at all! For instance, the Hasty Mint increases Speed by +10 and decreases Defense by -10. Therefore, you should try to use Mints on a Pokemon that will take the most advantage of it.
As for finding these Mints in Pokemon: Scarlet and Violet, there are quite a few methods of doing so. These can be found as general loot out in the world. Other than that, these can also be purchased at the Chansey Supply after collecting a few Gym Badges. Once these become available, you’ll be able to purchase each for 20,000 Pokedollars — you’ll need to farm a lot of them to be able to afford them.
