How to Evolve Sliggoo into Goodra in Pokemon: Scarlet and Violet

Since its introduction in Generation IV, the Goomy has been a topic of hot debate among Pokemon trainers. Most trainers think that liking the Goomy makes you part of “the team cringe.” Although Goomy might not be to everyone’s taste, the same can’t be said of Sliggoo. Many trainers in Pokemon: Scarlet and Violet are wondering how they can evolve Sliggoo into Goodra. But don’t worry! In this guide, I’ll tell you how to do that.

Understand the hierarchy before you try to evolve Sliggoo into Goodra. Goomy reaches level 40 and evolves into Sliggoo, who then becomes Goodra at level 50. In other words, Goomy starts out as a Dragon-type Pokemon but gets stronger with each evolution. The Paldea is the home of many Dragon-type, so of course, you will find the Goomy across it. Many Dragon-type Pokemon reside in Paldea, one of them being the Goomy.

If you want to evolve Sliggoo into Goodra, be prepared for a bit of a challenge. Goodra is one of the more stubborn Pokemon when it comes to evolving and often refuses to do so. However, if you provide it with its favorite environment, you may have better luck. In short: To evolve Sliggoo into Goodra in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, try basing your gameplay during rainy weather – though this may not be as easy as it sounds.

In the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games, you can’t control the weather. The only option you have is to find an area with a higher chance of rain. One such place is Area Two in the North Province. To get there, look for the bamboo forest near the Pokecenter. That location is always very wet because it rains so often. If you can’t find rain on the Northside, try looking for it near Eri’s Fighting Crew Base on the Southside.

The Paldea region is well-known for its drastic changes in weather, so be prepared for anything. If you want to save some time, use a Rare Candy to evolve Sliggoo into Goodra.
