Valheim is all about survival and in order to succeed you will need all the resources that you can get your hands on. Barleys happens to be one of the important ones that you should get. In this Valheim guide, we are going to walk you through how you can get Barley in the game.
Barley is a great resource that can be used to make Barley Flour which is going to help you increase your health and stamina.
How To Get Barley In Valheim
You can find Barley and Flax commonly in the Plains biome in Valheim. The tricky thing is that you cannot come to this biome early on. There are enemies here that can kill you very quickly. We recommend coming to the Plains biome once you have full silver and wolf armor.
Once you arrive at the biome, you will find that the land has been occupied by gobline-line creatures. Taking them out is not going to be easy but the reward is barley, so you should do it despite the difficulties.
Unlike carrots and turnips, you cannot grow barley anywhere you want. If you want to grow barley then you need to make a base in the Plains. You can take over an enemy village or camp and use that as your base once you have cleared it out.
Note that once you have cleared the camp the enemies are not going to come back but the ones that roam around in the surrounding areas will respawn. So you will need to be ready to take them on. Unlike turnips and carrots, barley only yields 2 seeds rather than 3. Make sure not to turn it all into flour at once. You will need to plant it in order to be able to make more. This will keep you from traveling far and wide and will save you a lot of time.
This is how you can plant and harvest Barley in Valheim. If you are interested in learning more about the game then you can check out our guide on how you can make frost resistance mead. For more content related to the game be sure to check out our Valheim guides hub.
