Breeding is a key component of Palworld. It basically lets you breed the perfect companions. Whether you wish to create some unique Pals or just watch the life unfold in front of your eyes, breeding is the answer. In this guide, we have detailed everything you need to know about the dynamics of Breeding in Palworld.
The first thing that you will need to do is to build the Breeding Farm. To do so, you will need to reach Level 19 in the Technology Tree. It needs the following materials:
- 100x Wood + 20x Stone + 50x Fiber
In addition to the Breeding Farm, you should also prepare a Palbox, 2x Pal Beds, a Feed Box, a Mill, and a Cooking Pot. As for hatching eggs, an Egg Incubator is needed. It is an advanced item obtained through the Technology Tree.
To start, place Pals (male / female) inside the Breeding Farm. You can also cross-breed different species for offspring with varied traits. You will also need Cake as it is essential to initiate the Breeding. You can cook it using these ingredients:
- 5x Flour + 8x Red Berries + 7x Milk + 8x Eggs + 2x Honey
You can get Red Berries in the wild, and other ingredients can be sourced from nearby settlements. Alternatively, you can also produce some of them such as Flour from a Flour Field, etc.
Once you being, a progress bar reading something like Love is Blossoming indicates the breeding is underway.
Offspring inherit skills, base stats, and appearances from their parents. You can also breed Rare Pals can result in more powerful offspring. Bred Pals can learn their parents’ skills — both Active and Passive, giving them abilities beyond their standard species capabilities. Pals do not evolve into stronger versions of themselves. Instead, breeding is the primary method to obtain powerful Pals with desirable skills.
Once an egg is laid, use an Egg Incubator to hatch it. Eggs have specific environmental requirements, so set the correct conditions in the Incubator for efficient hatching.
Understanding Fusion Pals
A few Pals have special variants called Fusion Pals, achievable through specific cross-breeding combinations. For example, breeding a Jormuntide with a Blazehowl might produce a Jormuntide Ignis. It is also important to note that while cross-breeding is possible, it will not create entirely new breeds. It will only spawn Pals that are already present in Palworld.
