How To Use Onyx Gemstone In Baldur’s Gate 3

Onyx is one of the few gemstones that you will come across as you go through Faerun. If you have been playing Baldur’s Gate 3 for a while, then chances are that you have this in your inventory, but you might not know what to do with it. The description of the stone does not give you a lot of information regarding how it is supposed to be used.

Onyx is a valuable gemstone and can be traded or bartered. Since it is not used in crafting or alchemy, you should not hold on to it, just in case you need it afterward. Since this is a valuable gemstone, you will get a high price for it at merchants. How much the gem goes for is going to depend on the merchant and how generous they are feeling, but you can typically get 35 gold per gem. There is no additional in-game use for Onyx in Baldur’s Gate 3, so it is safe to sell.

How To Find Onyx?

You can find Onyx gemstones inside chests or as decoration in different rooms that you go through on your journey. Since there are plenty to be found, chances are that you have a couple of them in your inventory already. Especially if you like exploring and picking up everything that you find.
