Nvidia RTX 3080 is supposed to replace the RTX 2080 and while we are now used to the dual-fan cooler, it seems that Nvidia is taking another route with the cooler for the Nvidia RTX 3080. The Nvidia RTX 3080 seems to have a blower-style fan but there are two of them. One at the front and another one at the back.
A recent drawing shows what I am talking about and you can check it out below:
Someone from @guru_3d has made a drawing based on the alleged photos of the GeForce RTX 3080 which illustrates the construction or position of the two fans a bit better. pic.twitter.com/rvFgxZ1P6F

Other than the drawing, we have some actual pictures of the Nvidia RTX 3080. The design seems to be much better than what we see in the drawing but the placement of the fans on the opposite sides does not really make sense. It would be really weird having it installed vertically. You can check out images of the graphics card below:
At this time, we are not sure if this is the Founder’s Edition from Nvidia if these are custom AIB partner cards. Whatever the case may be, the design with the fans on opposite ends does not seem right. The RTX 3080 is expected to have the following specifications:
- 10/20GB GDDR6
- 320-bit memory interface
- 60 SMs
- 3480 CUDA cores
The little brother, RTX 3070 is supposed to have the following specifications:
- 8/16GB GDDR6
- 256-bit memory interface
- 48 SMs
- 3072 CUDA cores
With the PS5 and Xbox Series X coming out later this year, it makes sense for Nvidia to launch something in the PC space that provides a major boost in performance. We already know that AMD has an event planned for later this year during which we will learn more about RDNA2 and Big Navi. The following are the expected specifications of the upcoming graphics cards from AMD:
Let us know what you think about the design of the Nvidia RTX 3080Â and whether or not this is something that you would be interested in buying.
