Nook’s Cranny is the first shop that you can get on the island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The shop allows you to buy and sell goods. The stock changes each day. In this guide, we are going to go over how you can unlock the shop.
How To Unlock Nook’s Cranny Shop In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
In order to unlock the shop, you need to pay off your initial island getaway package bill. Use the 5,000 Nook Miles to do that. Once that is done, you have to talk to Tom Nook and upgrade your tent to a house.
Once your house is complete, go to the Resident Services and find Tom. He will be talking to Timmy about setting up the shop. When speaking to Timmy, he will ask you for help in setting up the shop. You will need to bring him 30 wood, Hardwood and Iron Nuggets.
You will need to chop down trees and get the iron nuggets from the rocks on the island. This can take some time. You can also use the Nook Miles to visit random islands to get more resources.
Give the resources to Timmy and he will give you a building plot for the shop. You can place it somewhere. After a day of building the Nook’s Cranny shop will be available to you in the game.
How to Upgrade Nook’s Cranny
You need to do a lot of spending at the store in order to upgrade it. You may also need to upgrade the Resident Services to a building. Roughly, you will need to spend around 70,000 bells in order to trigger the upgrade. There are different parameters that can trigger the upgrade. So do keep that in mind. You can check out our bells farming guide to get that many bells.
The upgraded shop is going to offer more items for sale each day. So it is worth upgrading.
