Thanks to the continued efforts of Hello Games more content has arrived in No Man’s Sky. A very interesting “living ships” update has arrived in No Man’s Sky and in our living ships guide we will discuss how to get them,  or should I say, Hatch them? It’s a weird update!

No Man’s Sky Living Ships Hatching

Getting your hands on the living ships is a bit hard as you will need plenty of quicksilver. In case you don’t know, Quicksilver is a currency in No Man’s Sky so don’t confuse it with Marvel’s The Flash knock off.

Moreover, Living ships are only available in one location and instead of getting the ships you actually hatch them from a Void Egg.  Speak with our friendly neighborhood The Nexus on the Space Anomaly.

Complete the quests they give you in exchange for Quicksilver. The problem is that you can only one mission for Quicksilver per day so you need to keep going for days unless you have plenty of Quicksilver stored up. You can earn more Quicksilver during special events, weekends, etc.

How to Get Living Ships

  • Get 3200 Quicksilver
  • Get the Void Egg from the Quicksilver Vendor
  • Complete the Void Egg Quest
  • Let the egg Hatch

Once you have enough Quicksilver, you need to get your hands on the Void Egg. There is a quest attached to it that you need to complete. Once done with the quest and have all the materials, all you need to do is wait for the Void Egg to hatch. No Man’s Sky Living Ships Void Eggs can take a while to hatch.

The questline has 5 total steps and each step tells you to wait 24 hours. After you get your first ship, the cost of another is just 10,000 nanites and the host will give you the coordinates for another ship.

Thanks to Squiddy for the correction in comments.

  1. Hiya, just wanted to correct the quicksilver amount, as it’s 3200, not 3000. also there are 5 total steps to the quest line, and each of them tells you to wait 24 hours. It can take upwards of a week to get the ship. After you get your first ship, the cost of another is just 10,000 nanites and the host will give you the coords for another ship.
