Resources are needed for almost everything in the game – be it upgrading camp, cooking food, crafting weapons, etc. Finding these resources, however, can be a little difficult, especially for players who do not know where to begin. In this New World guide, we have detailed all there is to know about how to easily track resources for cooking, crafting, etc.
New World Tracking Resources
Resources are hard to come by in New World. And since these are needed for things like cooking, crafting, etc., it is a good idea to gather a lot of them whenever possible. But how does one do that?
The ability to track resources in New World is directly tied to upgrading specific Gathering Skills. For instance, to be able to track Platinum effectively, Mining Skill 135 is needed. Another thing to keep in mind is that leveling a single Gathering Skill can help track multiple resources. A good example of this is that leveling the Mining Skill can help track items like Silver, Gold, Star Metal, etc. Below, we have provided a complete list of all the resources in the game and the required level of the Gathering Skills:
Resource | Gathering Skill |
Alchemy Stones | Mining Level 75 |
Farm Plants | Harvesting Level 20 |
Gold | Mining Level 70 |
Hemp | Harvesting Level 25 |
Iron | Mining Level 25 |
Ironwood | Logging Level 175 |
Large Prey | Tracking and Skinning Level 75 |
Large Predator | Tracking and Skinning Level 175 |
Lodestone | Mining Level 155 |
Magical Creatures | Harvesting Level 175 |
Magical Plants | Harvesting Level 45 |
Medium Prey | Tracking and Skinning Level 50 |
Oil | Mining Level 45 |
Orichalcum | Mining Level 200 |
Platinum | Mining Level 135 |
Silver | Mining Level 35 |
Silkweed | Harvesting Level 125 |
Small Predator | Tracking and Skinning Level 125 |
Small Prey | Tracking and Skinning Level 25 |
Star Metal | Mining Level 125 |
Wirefiber | Harvesting Level 200 |
Wyrdwood | Logging Level 125 |
Now all that remains is to head over to the area to collect resources until they are completely exhausted. Once that happens, travel to a different area until the resources respawn and repeat the entire process once more. Also, remember to keep the level of required Gathering Skills in mind – feel free to refer to the table shared above. As for tracking them, these resources appear as small icons on the compass at the top of the UI. Just keep this in mind and it should not be hard to track the required resources in the game.
