A new Rockstar game announcement has been rumored for the longest time but it feels closer than ever now. It has been two years since the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 and 4-5 years since the release of GTA 5. Something is due from Rockstar in the next year or so which means an announcement should be made in the coming weeks and months.

In fact, an announcement is hinted by a new job listing from Rockstar Games. In the post-production section of Rockstar’s official website, the studio listed a job opportunity for a video editor. The company is looking for a video editor to create an “emotional” and full of “excitement” 60-second trailer among other marketing material.

Rockstar Games is looking for a highly capable and experienced video editor who can work with a team to capture game footage and edit video game trailers to the highest standard. The ideal candidate will have experience with both drama and documentary and able to craft a compelling narrative. This is a hands on position, capturing footage alone or working with a team of capture artists and then editing a high quality trailer.

Storytelling is a very important aspect of our games, so the editor must be able to communicate the emotional content and excitement of a game within a 60 second format. This is an interactive procedure, part of the trailer making process is shooting scenes in a virtual 3D world using proprietary tools. You will need to be not only an editor but a director and cinematographer as well.

The person will also be in charge of creating “TV commercials, and other marketing and production-based materials.” The post heavily indicates that something new is coming, and coming soon. There are multiple possibilities here, GTA 6, Bully 2, new IP, or a huge expansion for Red Dead Redemption 2. Considering how the story ended and the state of RDR Online, we doubt there will be a big expansion for Red Dead Redemption 2. Interestingly, the job listing fits with a rumor from last year which stated that GTA 6 trailer is coming in 2020, make of this what you will.

This is most certainly a new game, whether it is a new or existing IP remains to be seen. Still, those who’ll speculate reading this post would undoubtedly put their money on GTA 6 and understandably so. Grand Theft Auto 6 has been rumored for a while in fact, multiple easter eggs for the game’s release date and setting were spotted in GTA 5.
