Elden Ring players looking to dominate in PvP combat should look no further than the Nameless White Mask. This coveted item can be obtained by solving cryptic clues and taking down fierce enemies, making it the ultimate challenge for hardcore fans of the game.

For PvP enthusiasts, bleed builds are a key component of the Elden Ring meta. Players can quickly reduce an opponent’s health by building up the bleed effect. While many bleed weapons are viable with a high enough dexterity, the White Mask head armor is the ultimate bleed-boosting equipment. So, ready to take your Elden Ring gameplay to the next level? This guide will discuss everything you need to know on how to get the Nameless White Mask.

How to Reach Mohgwyn Palace

To get the Nameless White Mask, you need to reach Mohgwyn Palace, and there are two ways to do this:

  • Consecrated Snowfield Portal
  • Mask Varre’s Questline

Consecrated Snowfield Portal

To get the nameless White Mask in Elden Ring, the first step is to collect both halves of the Dectus Medallion found in Limgrave and Caelid, respectively, to get access to the Altus Plateau.

The next step is defeating Morgott, the Omen King, in Leyndell. This will grant you access to the Mountaintops of the Giants. Once this has been accomplished, players must complete Latenna’s questine to obtain both halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion to access the Consecrated Snowfield using the Grand Lift of Rold.

Now you must find the Hidden Path to the Haligtree Site of Grace. You’ll have to push through the snow-covered ruins of Yelough Anix, but keep going; a lone Albinauric guards a portal at the end. To access the portal, defeat the Sanguine Noble Invader and grab the Sanguine Noble Set. Inside the Mohgwyn Palace, head out of the cave and follow the trail to the left to reach the Palace Approach Ledge-Road Site of Grace.

Mask Varre’s Questline

You can get your hands on the White Mask early in the game by completing White Mask Varre’s questline. Varre is the first NPC you’ll meet in Elden Ring, hanging out next to the First Step Site of Grace. Chat with him here, then come back after taking out Godrick the Grafted in Stormveil Castle or getting any Great Rune. He’ll send you to the Roundtable Hold to meet the Two Fingers, then to Liurnia of the Lakes.

After the First Step Site of Grace, Varre hangs out at the Rose Church south of Raya Lucaria Academy. Talk to him and tell him that the Two Fingers “didn’t seem right” when he asks for your impression of them. He’ll give you five Festering Bloody Fingers, a consumable item for invading other players in PvP. Use the fingers to invade three different players, then come back to Varre. He’ll ask you to join him in serving Luminary Mohg, Lord of Blood. Let him anoint you, and he’ll give you the Lord of Blood’s Favor and tell you to soak it in a maiden’s blood as the final step.

Go to the Church of Inhibition in the northeast corner of Liurnia and reach the maiden corpse sitting in the chair. Take the Finger Maiden Set, then select “Dye cloth with maiden’s blood.”

With the Lord of Blood’s Favor, freshly drenched in maiden’s blood, make your way back to Varre. He’ll pat you on the back for completing the final trial, and as a reward, he’ll perform the ancient ritual of finger amputation and hand you a reusable Blood Finger. But the rewards don’t stop there; Varre will also bestow upon you the coveted Pureblood Knight’s Medal, a powerful tool that allows you to instantly transport yourself to the grand Mohgwyn Palace from any location. Use it, ascend the stairs and take a well-deserved rest at the Dynasty Mausoleum Entrance Site of Grace.

Nameless White Mask Location in Elden Ring

The mask is in a lake of blood in the southeast corner of the map. But be warned, the journey there isn’t for the faint of heart. From the Dynasty Mausoleum Entrance Site of Grace, head down the stairs and keep moving forward, hugging the cliff on your right until you reach the narrow stream. Watch out for Giant Crows, dogs, and deadly blood-geysers along the way. Or, if you’re starting from the Palace Approach Ledge-Road Site of Grace, make your way down the hill, past the hordes of Albinaurics, and keep left when you reach the lake until you hit the stream.

Get ready to battle because the first Invader is waiting for you at the lake’s entrance. The second one will be lurking around the rocks on the left. Both are useless for your hunt for the White Mask, but it’s best to take them out anyway, so they don’t become a problem later. Head to the lake’s southern end, where the final Invader hides behind a big tree by the cliffside.

How to Beat the Nameless White Mask

Nameless White Mask is a tough fight. Make sure you’re at least level 90 before taking him on. His attacks can cause heavy bleeding, so keep your distance and await attack opportunities.

The best way to beat the Nameless White Mask is to trigger the invasion and then run off to Dynasty Mausoleum Entrance. Stick to the left cliff to avoid any other enemies. Climb the ruined stairs and position yourself at the top of the cliff. Wait for the Mask to catch up and then attack it from above using Night Maiden’s Mist or any other ranged attacks. Since it’ll be trying to cast magic from below, it’ll be an easy target. Make sure you’re at least level 90 before taking on this boss, and you’ll be good to go.”

Once you’re done with the boss, you will get the White Mask and other goodies.
