Baldur’s Gate 3 has plenty of companions and you can romance them all but the game takes things a step further and allows you to romance some characters that are not companions. With so many options you might be tempted to have romantic relations with more than one character. Fortunately, you can have multiple romances and there are poly options in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Multiple Romances (Poly Options) In Baldur’s Gate 3
Baldur’s Gate 3 allows multiple romances but whether or not these have consequences depend on the characters involved. Shadowheart, Astarion, and Halsin do not mind “sharing”. They are open to a poly relationship. Shadowheart and Astarion are characters that you recruit early on in Baldur’s Gate 3 and chances are that you are already in a romantic relationship with either Shadowheart or Astarion before you start fancying other characters. Both allow you to fulfill your needs from other people.
We have already gone over how you can romance Halsin and we experienced that if you are already in a relationship with Shadowheart then she is fine with your choice and getting involved with Halsin while you are with her. Your relationship with Shadowhaert remains intact even after you have done it with Halsin. Similarly, if you are in a relationship with Shadowheart and you fancy Mizora then Shadowheart will be fine with that too.
Note that Shadowheart, Astarion, and Halsin are the only characters that we know about that allow for multiple romances without any consequences. Other characters might not like the idea of you being with someone else. If you upset your “lover” then they might break the relationship and only be friends with you moving forward.
