To get the best performance make sure that you have the latest graphics drivers. Installing the latest drivers can fix plenty of bugs and performance hits that you might encounter. Note that the game is in early access so it does not have a dedicated driver update.
Before we look into the different things that you can do to tweak the performance of Mount And Blade 2: Bannerlord on PC, you should know about the requirements of the game. The following are the minimum specs and the recommended specs of the game that you should keep in mind.
- Processor:Intel® Core™ i3-8100 / AMD Ryzen™ 3 1200
- Memory:6 GB RAM
- Graphics:Intel® UHD Graphics 630 / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 660 2GB / AMD Radeon™ HD 7850 2GB
- OS: Windows 7 or above (64-bit)
- Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-9600K / AMD Ryzen™ 5

If you have the recommended hardware or your PC specs are close to that, then you should not have any problems running the game but if you are closer tot he minimum specs then running the game well is going to be an issue.
First, you should head over to the video settings and set the screen resolution to the desktop resolution. Try the tweaks that we have mentioned below in order to increase performance. You can lower the screen resolution if the tweaks below to not work but the image quality is going to suffer significantly. So keep that in mind.
You should leave the resolution scale at 100 but you can decrease this as a last resort if you are unable to hit the mark that you are aiming for.
Best Low-End PC Settings
Next, you should move on to the performance tab and check the performance boost that you get by lower the overall preset to medium or low. The following are the settings that we recommend for low-end PCs:
- Shader Quality – Low
- Shadow Quality – Low
- Texture Streaming Budget – Reduce if CPU is the bottleneck
- Shadow Type – None
- Anit-aliasing – None
- Clock Simulation – Disabled
- Interactive Grass – Disabled
- Tesselation – Disabled
- Bloom – Disabled
- Motion Blur – Disabled
Other Tweaks To Optimize Mount And Blade 2
The following are some other tweaks that you can use in order to get better in-game performance.
Set Priority To High
Open up the task manager and in the processes tab right-click on the game and select go to details. In the details tab, right-click on the Mount and Blade 2 process and set the priority to high.
Clock Background Programs
In the task manager close all the programs that are running in the background that you are not interested in using while playing the game. Ideally only the game and the launcher should be running in the background.
Nvidia Control Panel Settings
Open the Nvidia control panel and click on manage 3D settings. Add the game from the list. Now, change the following settings:
- CUDA – Your main GPU
- Power Management Mode – Prefer Maximum Performance
- Texture Filtering Quality – Performance
