Monster Hunter Rise Hunting Horn Guide

Hunting Horn in MHR proves that melodies can be dangerous. Attacks from this weapon create notes that players can weave into melodies that hurt nearby monsters. However, the weapon truly shines when it comes to providing a range of buffs to a team. This is also incredibly useful for stun-locking a monster, thanks to it being a Blunt Weapon. In this Monster Hunter Rise guide, we’ve detailed everything about Hunting Horn, its controls, skilbind attacks, and best combos.

Monster Hunter Rise Hunting Horn

Playing songs using a Hunting Horn is pretty easy to do. Through this, they can also provide self-sustain which is huge for beginners. However, the only thing where it lacks is its limited move set.

Controls

First of all, let’s talk about the basic controls that players need to be aware of when playing with the Hunting Horn:

  • Left Swing: X
  • Right Swing: A
  • Backwards Strike: X + A
  • Perform: ZR
  • Magnificent Trio: ZR + X

Skilbind Attacks

Just like all the other weapon types in Monster Hunter Rise, there are a total of Skilbind Attacks:

  • Slide Beat: ZL + X
  • Earthshaker: ZL + A
  • Bead of Resonance: ZL + A

With the Slide Beat, players are able to use a Wirebug to move forward with a spinning attack. During the animation of the spinning attack, players are immune to all types of knockback effects. Earthshaker pierces the target with a blade that explodes after a while. It can be switched out with Bead of Resonance that lets players put a Wirebug cocoon on the ground that can have the same melody that damages enemies with a Sonic Wave.

  • LS + X, X + A, A, X + A
