With the release of the new Nether update for Minecraft, Diamond is no longer the strongest material in the game. The title now belongs to Netherite, a new material that you can only get while in Nether. Armor/Weapons made from Netherite will have improved stats and are generally the best in the game. In this Minecraft guide, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know about farming Netherite and making tools from it.
Minecraft Netherite Tools
First of all, let’s talk about farming Netherite. Sadly, there isn’t any direct way of finding Netherite out in the open. To get Netherite, you must farm Ancient Debris. You should be able to find plenty of it in Nether between Level 8 and Level 22. Remember that you’ll need to have either a Diamond Pickaxe or a Netherite Pickaxe to mine the material.
If you’re having a hard time knowing where you are while playing on PC, you should be able to press F3 in order to enable the coordinates UI on the screen. What you need to do is to make sure that your Y-coordinate is somewhere between 8-22.
Once you’ve found enough Ancient Debris, make your way to a Furnace and start smelting it. Once properly smelted, an Ancient Debris should provide you with a Netherite Scrap but it won’t do you any good in this condition – you must turn it into Netherite Ingot. To do that, find a Crafting Table and combine 4x Netherite Scraps and 4x Gold Ingots to create a Netherite Ingot.
Netherite Weapons, Armor
With a few Netherite Ingots in your inventory, find your way to a Smithing Table and use the Netherite Ingots in order to upgrade your Diamond equipment into Netherite equipment. Sadly, you can craft Netherite tools from scratch, you can only upgrade the Diamond ones. It should only cost you a single Netherite Ingot to upgrade a piece of equipment.
Being the best tools in the game as of now, you should be able to reap plenty of benefits such as improved weapon DPS, increased resistances, and more.
