If you’re looking for detailed information on marrying someone in Final Fantasy XIV, we’ve got you covered. In this guide, we’ll explain everything you need to know on how to get married in Final Fantasy XIV.

How to Get Married in Final Fantasy XIV

There’s a special ceremony in Final Fantasy XIV called the Ceremony of Eternal Bonding which lets you marry the love of your life. It can be anyone in the game and the gender also doesn’t matter as long as players meet the requirements and procedure of marriage. We’ve listed out and explained all the requirements and procedure below:

Requirements

There are certain essential requirements that need to be completed before you can go on and marry someone. These requirements are as follows:
• Players must have at least one class at level 50.
• Players must first complete the main quest The Scions of the Seventh Dawn.
• Players must form a party of two with their partners.
• Players and their partners must both be in the East Shroud.
• Players and their partners must equip themselves with Promise Wristlets (where to get them is explained below).

Applying on Mog Station

The first thing you need to do if you want to get married in Final Fantasy XIV is registering for it on the Mog Station. To do that, simply log into Final Fantasy XIV: Mog Station with the account which contains the character you want to marry with someone.

After you’ve logged in, choose “Optional Items” from the top menu. You’ll find 3 listed wedding plans to choose from; Standard, Gold and Platinum. The Standard plan is free while the Gold and Platinum are priced at $10 per player and $20 per player respectively. The standard plan contains the least amount of add-ons and customization options, and on the other hand Platinum contains the most. You can make a detailed analysis using the description of plans on Mog station and then buy accordingly.

According to the plan you choose, you’ll get a corresponding Promise Wristlet later through the moogle delivery service. You and your partner must not lose this wristlet as it is necessary to undertake marriage. Also, you and your partner must have identical wristlets to be married. You can either buy 2 and give one to your partner or buy it separately. You’ll also receive the quest “The Ties that Bind”, which is basically all the planning for your wedding.

Quest: The Ties that Bind

You can start this quest by speaking with Claribel; the Ceremony Planner. You can easily find him at the Sanctum of the Twelve situated in East Shroud. It’s also important that you have the Promised Wristlets in your inventory when you go for the quest as you can’t start it without them. Over the course of this quest, you’ll obtain your ceremony attire and also craft two eternity rings for the marriage ceremony.

Planning and Customizing the Ceremony

After you’ve completed the quest and got the rings, you can then proceed to plan and customize the ceremony by talking to Raitmeaux in the Ivory Chapel. It’s advised that you and your partner agree on the same settings so that Raitmeaux can proceed and prepare for the ceremony. You can think of what you want to do for your ceremony beforehand.

Mainly, you get to choose from 3 wedding styles; The Lover’s Kiss, The Spinner’s Hand and The Solemn Oath. Each style has a different “Official” to bring a distinct style to the wedding. Apart from the wedding style, you can choose the lighting, carpet color, flower color, bouquet bearer, fabric color and the music to be played.

Making a Reservation

Once you’ve planned and customized everything for the ceremony, it’s time to make a reservation. For that, you need to speak with Etoinelle standing at the entrance of Ivory Chapel. Slots are reserved on basis of the wedding plan you’ve bought. Once you’ve scheduled the date and time for your wedding, you can proceed to make the remaining further arrangements such as inviting guests.

Inviting Guests

When you schedule the ceremony with Etoinelle, she’ll give both of you a blank invitation. You can make wedding invitations using that blank one, and send them to people you want to invite at the wedding. You can either give invitations directly to player or you can send it via moogle delivery service. A maximum of 40 people per player can be invited, making it a total of 80 for the wedding. After inviting guests, nothing remains to be done other than attending the ceremony.

Hosting the Ceremony

When the scheduled day and time arrives, the first thing that couples and their invited guests need to make sure of is that they have blank invitations and wedding invitations with them. Otherwise, they won’t be able to attend the wedding. If you or your partner doesn’t enter the venue within 20 minutes of the Chapel doors opening, the ceremony will be postponed. On the contrary, if everyone is on time, the wedding ceremony will commence according to the wedding style you’ve chosen previously.

After the ceremony is over and you’re pronounced husband/wife, you’ll need to talk to Claribel in order to complete the quest: The Ties that Bind. When the quest is complete and you’re married, you’ll also receive rewards according to the wedding plan you chose in the first place.

Setting the Date of Anniversary

When all the marriage proceedings are done and the special quest is complete, you can do one last thing to commemorate your special day in the future. You can speak with Hawu Bajihri at Sanctum of the Twelve in East Shroud to confirm or select a date for your anniversary. Every year when the anniversary arrives, you along with your partner can revisit the special quest “The Ties that Bind”.

Additional Tips and Rewards

While the ceremony itself is a joyous occasion, there are some additional tips to enhance your experience:

  • Dress Code: You can purchase or craft special wedding attire for the ceremony. Make sure to coordinate with your partner for a matching look.
  • Emotes: Practice your emotes beforehand. You’ll have the opportunity to use them during the ceremony, adding a personal touch to the event.
  • Photography: Assign someone to take screenshots or record the ceremony. These memories are worth preserving.

Rewards (Section 9)

Depending on the plan you chose, you’ll receive various rewards, including:

  • Two-Person Mount: A unique mount that both you and your partner can ride.
  • Eternity Ring: Allows you to teleport to your partner’s location.
  • Special Minions: Exclusive pets that accompany you on your adventures.

And that’s about everything you need to know on how to get married in Final Fantasy XIV.
