The present tour in Mario Kart Tour, New Year Tour, has brought a new set of challenges to the mobile devices. Available till Jan. 16, there are 3 types of challenges you can take on i.e. Tour Challenges, Gold Challenges, and Standard Challenges. Completing these Mario Kart Tour Challenges should be your topmost priority because of the rewards that they give.

As you might’ve noticed, most of the challenges are fairly straightforward to complete except a few. Standard Challenges are even easier to complete. These are mostly something like making a couple of friends, landing last hits with different items, winning a set amount of races, etc. The following are a few tips and tricks that will help you complete all the Tour Challenges in Mario Kart Tour:
1. Perform 3 Rocket Starts
You must do this at the very start of a race. To perform a Rocket Start, try to hold ‘Down’ until it says 1 or 2 on the screen and then let go.
2. Collect 100 Coins in Total
Coins in Mario Kart Tour are scattered all around an arena. Simply drive over a coin to collect it – you’ll complete the challenge naturally.
3. Land 10 Banana Hits
To complete the challenge, you first need to acquire a Banana from the spinning item boxes spread across a track. After you’ve one, simply hit opponents with it for a total of 10 times to complete it.
4. Use Lightning
Similar to the previous challenge, you need to acquire Lightning from an item box. Once you’ve it, simply use it to complete the challenge. You don’t really need to hit an opponent with it – simply using it should suffice.
5. Earn a Score of 8,000 or Higher on a T Course
This will probably take you a while. The first thing that you need is to choose the best driver and kart for the T Course you’re going with. During the race, try to collect as many items as you possibly can and don’t forget to use Frenzy whenever you et the chance. Also, remember that you don’t need to place 1st – just scoring the 8,000 points should suffice.
6. Get 1st Place 3 Times in a Row
There are no tips to complete this challenge. Try to use the things (kart, driver, track, etc.) you’re comfortable with and place 1st 3 times in a row to complete the challenge.
7. Earn a Score of 5,000 or Higher with a Driver Wearing Gloves
This challenge is similar to the one in which you had to score 8,000 points on a T Course. Everything I mentioned in that challenge also applies here but you need to ensure that you’re playing with a gloves-wearing driver.
8. Take out a Total of 3 Thwomps
Thwomps in Mario Kart Tour is a stone block jumping on a race track. To take them out, you need to use a Green Shell or a Bomb-item. Successfully taking out a total of 3 Thwomps will complete the challenge.
9. In a Single Race, Hit a Kadomatsu with an Item 3 Times
This one also works similar to the previous challenge. Kadomatsu are only available in the New Year Tour. You’ll need to use a Green Shell or Bomb-like items to get rid of them in a single race to complete the challenge.
