Crash At Startup Fix
PC players report that the game is crashing at startup. They launch the game, and it instantly crashes. The following fixes for Like a Dragon: Ishin crash at startup issue.
Force DirectX 11
Like a Dragon: Ishin system requirements state that the game uses DirectX 12. However, DX12 is causing the game to crash at startup for some players. The fix is to force the game to use DirectX 11. Right-click the game in Steam library > Properties > Genal tab > type -dx11 under Launch Options and close the window. Launch Like a Dragon: Ishin, and it’ll launch without crashing.
Disable Fullscreen Optimizations
Any app or game installed on Windows has Fullscreen Optimization enabled by default. This setting can sometimes crash a game at startup and Like a Dragon: Ishin is no exception. Disable Fullscreen optimizations by right-clicking the game in Steam library > Manage > Browse Lcoal files. A new explorer window will open with game files. Visual C++ Redistributables are important files required to run any program on Windows. Over time the files can get corrupted, or updated files are required to run games and applications. This might be the case with Like a Dragon: Ishin. This can be confirmed by right-clicking the game in Steam library > Manage > Browse Lcoal files. A new explorer window will open with game files. Launch the game directly through the executable. You will get an error like ‘vcruntime140_1.dll is missing, or MSVCP140.dll Was Not Found.’ Install/update Visual C++ Redistributables to fix the error, and Like a Dragon: Ishin will launch without crashing.

Like a Dragon: Ishin requires a DirectX 12 GPU to run, but the game also supports DX11 and has to be forced to use it. DX12 is the latest iteration of DirectX, but sometimes causes the game to crash, so switching to DirectX 11 fixes the in-game crash. Clean Temp Files

Disable in-game overlays like Steam in-game overlay and GeForce Experience overlay, and the game will stop crashing. To disable Steam in-game overlay, open Settings > In-game > uncheck “Enable the Steam overlay while in-game.”
To disable GeForce Experience in-game overlay, open GeForce Experience > click on the Great icon next to your username > General > turn off the “IN-GAME Overlay” options.
Revert GPU Overclock
GPU overclocked can result in games crashing while playing. Revert the GPU to its default clocks if you have overclocked your GPU. Some GPUs are factory overclocked. Open Nvidia Control Panel > Help > Debug Mode to restore their default GPU clocks. Doing this will force the GPU to use the reference GPU clocks and fix the in-game crash issue with Like A Dragon Ishin.
