Last Oasis PC is facing errors and issues like Easy Anti Cheat error, VCRUNTIME140_1.dll not found, stuttering, locked CPU priority, and more. Here I have compiled a list of errors and issues with the game along with their fixes and workarounds.

Last Oasis Crashing, Stuttering, And Fixes

Last Oasis is currently in Early Access. Given that the game is still in development, players are reporting errors and issues with the Last Oasis PC like Easy Anti Cheat error, locked CPU priority, locked FPS and more.

The following are the errors and issues that players are experiencing with the game along with their fixes and workarounds.

Easy Anti Cheat Fix

Players are reporting that when they start the Last Oasis they get the “Easy Anti-Cheat (Untrusted system file)” error. One reason for this error is the use of third-party software like MSI Afterburner. Disable any third-party software you are using and the issue will be resolved.

If that isn’t the case then you might be using an RGB lighting software for one of your RGB peripherals. Uninstall the RGB software and the game will start.

If the issue still persists then open the Steam library. Right-click on the Last Oasis > properties > Local files > browse local files > EasyAntiCheat > Delete Certificate folder. Profit. Start the game and the Easy Anti-Cheat error is now resolved.

VCRUNTIME140_1.dll Not Found Fix

Players are reporting that when they try to play the Last Oasis they get the “VCRUNTIME140_1.dll was not found” error. This error is related to VC Redistributables. First, delete the already installed Visual C++ Redistributelaes then download and install the latest Visual C++ Redistributables and the error won’t bother you again.

Game Not Launching, Crash At Startup Fix

According to the Last oasis players, the game crashes at soon at it launches or doesn’t launch at all. Here are a few fixes that’ll help you fix the issues.

One reason for the game to crash at launch could be your anti-virus software or Windows Defender blocking the game’s exe. Either disable your anti-virus or exclude the game’s install folder from your anti-virus and the issue will be resolved.

Another reason is the use of third-party software like MSI Afterburner or GeForce Experience. Disable any third-party monitoring software you are using and the game will start.

If you are using MSI Afterburner and disabling it hasn’t resolved the issues then follow the steps below.

  • Open RivaTuner Statistics Server(RTSS).
  • Click the Add button and navigate to the game’s folder.
  • Add Last Oasis’ exe under Application profile properties.
  • Set Application detection level to None for the game application.
  • Close RivaTuner Statistics Server.

How To Unlock FPS

The developers have capped the game at 60 FPS by default. However, you can unlock the FPS and here is how.

Navigate to “C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Mist\Saved\Config\WindowsClient” and if you don’t find the files here then navigate to “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Last Oasis\Mist\Saved\Config\WindowsClient”.

Now open “GameUserSettings.ini” in notepad. Find “FrameRateLimit” and set it to whatever value you want i.e if you want 120 FPS then it’ll look like this: “FrameRateLimit=120”. Save the change and start the game and you’ll that the FPS has been unlocked.

Low FPS, Stuttering Fix

Performance is often an issue with PC games and apparently Last Oasis is no exception. Players are reporting random FPS drops and stuttering. Here are a few fixes that’ll improve the game’s performance and fix stuttering.

First, install the latest GPU drivers and make sure there is no background process that using too much of your HDD, CPU, or GPU.

Open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings. Select the game from the drop-down menu and if it isn’t there then add it. Now go through the options and make the following changes.

Set Vertical Sync to “ON”
Set “Power Management Mode” to “Prefer Maximum Performance”
set “Texture Filtering- Quality” to “High Performance”

Apply these changes, start the game and disable in-game v.sync. This will not only improve the game’s performance but will also fix stuttering.

If you are still facing stuttering in the game then follow the steps above and set Vertical Sync to “Fast”. If you haven’t unlocked FPS then unlock it.

See under “How To Unlock FPS” to see how to do it. Start the game, disable in-game v.sync and display should be set at fullscreen. This will not only fix stuttering but will potentially give you a significant performance boost if you have a moderate enough CPU and GPU.

How To Change CPU Priority

By default, the Last oasis doesn’t allow players to access and change CPU priority. However, there is a way to unlock CPU priority for the game. Here is how you can unlock the Last Oasis CPU priority.

Press “Win + R”, type “regedit” and press enter. A new window will open and you have to navigate to “Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options”.

Right-click on “Image File Execution Options” > New > Key. Name the new key “MistClient-Win64-Shipping.exe”. Now right-click “MistClient-Win64-Shipping.exe” > New > Key. Name the new key “PerfOptions”.

Right-click “PerfOptions” > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value. A new DWORD Value will show up, rename it to “CpuPriorityClass”. Then right-click “CpuPriorityClass” > Modify and enter your desired value from the following.

  • 1 = Idle.

  • 3 = High (Highly recommended).
  • 4 = RealTime (Not recommended at all).
  • 5 = Below Normal.
