The last raid challenge for King’s Fall is now live which means that you will see a lot of Kingslayers in The Tower. The challenge is called Hands Off and is done during the fight with Oryx. While not as complicated as some of the other raid challenges, it can be frustrating in Master Mode if you are unable to consistently 2-phase Oryx. But how do you get it done? In this Destiny 2 guide, we have detailed all there is to know about easily completing the Hands Off raid challenge in reprised King’s Fall.
Destiny 2: King’s Fall Hands Off Raid Challenge
For those who don’t know, you can’t kill the same Ogre or Light-eater Knight throughout the entire encounter. This means that you must rotate to the next Ogre/Knight after a DPS phase is over. This can be a little frustrating if you are not quick enough to kill Ogres/Knights or perform the jumping puzzle.
When it comes to completing the Hands Off challenge, the first thing that you need to understand is that the “Torn” only happens only after someone steps on the green plate — the one that Oryx slams.
You should try to take advantage of it and only jump on the plates after all the Ogres/Knights have been killed.
To make it easier, you should assign 4 players to each plate (L1, R1, L2, R2) and 2 players should be the floaters/roamers. These 4 players must defeat their Ogres/Knights before one of them jumps on the plate that Oryx slammed — if that player is “Torn”, one of the roamers should take the spot.
The only drawback of using this strategy is that you will need to be almost perfect when it comes to stealing the Brand Claimer from the air and slamming at the Knight in the middle. If you are quick enough, you should be able to steal the Brand Claimer from the air, slam at the Knight, and detonate all 4 Blights to start the DPS phase. After a DPS phase is over, you should all rotate clockwise.
For instance, R1 moves to L1, L1 moves to L2, L2 moves to R2, and R2 moves to R1 for the next cycle.
As for the Ogres that spawn during the Final Stand, these should be the responsibility of the 2 Roamers/Floaters.
Alternatively, you can also switch plates between 2 players. This means that L1 swaps with R1 and L2 swaps with R2 — you can also type in the chat to make things less confusing.
DPS Options
Here are a few things that you can use to make it as simple as possible:
- Whisper of the Worm, Sleeper Simulant, Leviathan Breath, Star-eater Scales with Golden Gun, Tether, etc.
- You can also run Lumina to get an increased 35% damage increase which is absolutely massive.
- Lastly, you should also have as many Well of Radiance as possible.
You can also use some Legendary Linear Fusion Rifles if you are running some like Wishender, Arbalest, Le Monarque, etc.
Master Mode Tips
There is not a whole lot that changes in King’s Fall: Master. Below, we have provided a complete rundown of all these changes:
With the Matchgame removed from the game, there should be no trouble dealing with a billion Arc shields in the area.
You can also assign 1-2 players to run Aeon Safe or Cenotaph Mask to generate Heavy Ammo for the entire team by finishing the Champions.
Lastly, do not forget the Surge Mods in the Boots, especially when you are needed to 2-phase. We highly recommend Whisper of the Worm as it deals an incredible amount of damage if you have the Exotic Catalyst.
Knights that appear on the plates are replaced with Overload Champions. Light-eater Knights that spawn on the opposite side of an Ogre have an Arc shield.
Since the Master Mode is 1820, you will also do less damage to Oryx, making it a little tough to 2-phase him which is what you need to aim for.
Arbalest can make it very easy when it comes to dealing with Arc-shield Knights as well as Ogres. As for dealing with Overload Champions, you can use Le Monarque to keep them perma-stunned. If you are using Arbalest, you can use any Bow you want.
