Performance is a major issue that PC players are experiencing with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Jedi Survivor is the latest game to launch with poor PC performance like low FPS, stuttering, and more. Here is how you can improve the game’s performance.

If you haven’t updated your GPU driver then it’s probably causing performance issues like stuttering and low FPS. Update the GPU driver to the latest version and ensure you do a clean installation.

Fix #1: Disable In-game Overlays

Almost every piece of software or client has its own in-game overlay for accessing useful features in-game. However, these in-game overlays can cause the game to crash and it might be the case with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Disable in-game overlays like Steam in-game overlay, GeForce Experience overlay, or EA App in-game overlay.

To disable EA app in-game overlay, open the EA desktop app > Settings > Application > turn off the in-game overlay.

Fix #1: Remove Third-party Software

PC users install third-party tools and software like Discord, MSI Afterburner, RGB Software, and driver/software for peripherals, to socialize, tweak, or utilize PC features. This third-party software can cause video games to crash and this is why Jedi Survivor is crashing. Disable any third-party software you have installed and enable them one by one to see which is causing the game to crash and then remove the software. This’ll fix the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in-game crash.

Fix #2: Limit Maximum FPS

As I mentioned before, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor isn’t an optimized game at launch, and the game probably putting too much load on your GPU and causing the DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED crash. You reduce the GPU and CPU load by lowering the graphics settings. If you don’t want to compromise on the visuals, then you’ll have the limit the game’s maximum FPS to fix the DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED error in Jedi: Survivor. Open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program settings > select Jedi: Survivor from the list. Enable “Maximum FPS Limit” and set a value for it. Note that don’t input any random FPS value as it should be 1/2, 1/3rd, or 1/4th of your display’s refresh rate.

Fix #3: Disable Overclock

If you have overclocked your GPU, then it is causing Jedi Survivor to crash with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED error. Revert the GPU back to its default clocks if you have overclocked your GPU. In case your GPU is factory overclocked, then enable Degub Mode through Nvidia Control Panel to force the GPU to use clock speeds recommended by Nvidia. Open Nvidia Control Panel > Help > Debug Mode.

Third-party anti-virus software can block important game files even executables which can prevent games from starting. This might be the case with Jedi: Survivor. Either disable your anti-virus or exclude the game folder from the anti-virus, I recommend the latter. After that, verify game files, and Star Wars Jed: Survivor will launch.

Fix #3: Update/Repair Visual C++ Redistributables
